Description for Ford F-100 1961
"They are only original once," and here you are looking at the real deal. This wonderful 1961 Ford F-100 unibody "integrated pickup" with natural patina lived its entire life in sunny and dry Arizona; one of the best states in the entire country for natural vehicle preservation. The previous owner found the truck in Arizona and brought it back to Texas with plans on turning it into a restomod with modern V-8 power, air ride suspension, and an oversized tire and wheel combination. After getting the truck back to Texas and driving it on occasion, he could not justify modifying such a solid and honest truck. Of the several vehicles in his collection, the previous owner says this was one of the most difficult to turn loose because he likes it so much, but it simply does not fit his collection objectives in its current state. The truck is all original right down to the inline six cylinder engine, three-on-the-tree transmission, factory "dog dish" Ford hubcaps, and generator charging system with six-volt electricals. The truck drives absolutely awesome and can glide down the road at 55mph smoothly with virtually no vibration. It starts easily with the fuel gauge, speedometer, and odometer all operational and functioning correctly. Shifting is smooth and crisp with the brakes stopping as they should for something of this vintage.
While there is no definite way to verify, it is believed that the mileage is original and has not yet rolled over 100,000 miles, which is likely accurate given how well the truck performs and drives. It is very tight. The major draw here is the natural patina. While there is desirable surface rust showing through the paint, there is no known areas of rust that has eaten away at any of the metal. Additionally, there is no known body filler on the truck and there are no major dents or body damage. All that is left behind is the desirable patina finish and very well preserved barn find that has not even been washed under the most previous ownership.
This is a top-quality collectible with a natural patina that has taken over 50 years in the making.. This truck is clean title and believed to be accident free. This truck comes from the dry Arizona climate and has NOT been involved in a flood or any other natural perils. Deposit due within 24 hours of the close of this auction.
