Description for Ford Galaxie 1960
I am selling a 1960 Ford Country Sedan Wagon. This is a one year body style hard to find wagon. Great car to advertise your business such as delivery service, tattooing or surf boarding. This car is even just a great ice cream getter. It was in a climate controlled storage building for 42 years. This is an all original complete car with no parts missing. It even has the clear plastic seat covers when it was put on from the dealer. It has the factory installed air conditioning option and stainless steel rear fender skirts. The first owner got a divorce 42 years ago, put the car in storage and moved to Florida. When visiting Michigan he would drive this car to keep it in good driving condition. The factory installed air conditioning is not working at this time, but the lines have pressure in them and the belt is on the compressor, but the compressor won’t engage. I have not checked it out. This car is equipped with power steering and power brakes. I have replaced the wheels and tires, but have the original wheels and tires with fat white walls on the original rims that are in great condition. I had the front end aligned when the new tires were installed 200 miles ago. All the fluids have been changed and the motor has been tuned up. I installed the following: electronic ignition, new cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, air filters, fuel filter and dual exhaust with 12” cherry bombs. The interior is in excellent condition as is the rest of the car. There is no body panel rust at all on the car. However the rear drivers side quarter panel looks as if he rubbed up against something and has very minor damage which didn’t even hurt the paint (see picture). I believe a dentless repair guy could straighten it out if you wanted to. There was another bad spot that I fixed which was in the driver side rear floor under the mat where the guy stored the car battery. I have replaced the floor pan in that area so there is no issue at all now. This car has a 292 motor with 53,000 original miles with a C6 trans and a 9” rear end. The car runs down the highway at 70 mph with no problem. It drives straight as an arrow with no pulling. You can drive it anywhere as I trust this to go anywhere. This car is 56 years old with original paint so there will be minor chips and patina. The title is free and clear in my hand. May possiblyconsider partial trade with cash. If you have any questions or need other pictures, please don’t hesitate to call or text (815) 252-8017. This is also being sold locally so I have the right to remove this listing at any time. There is a $1000 deposit within 24 hours of listing. It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange for shipment/cost. You are welcome to come and inspect the car at any time, please call the number above. Good luck and happy bidding!!!
