Description for Ford Thunderbird 1955
For your consideration is a 1955 Ford Thunderbird, the first year of the "baby birds". This is an very solid example and has been well cared for over the years.
The car was repainted in a pearlescent white, and though not an original color, it looks great on the car and enhances the lines beautifully. The interior shows well and is finished in red and white with a turned aluminum dash accent. Both the black convertible top as well as a matching hard top is included in the sale.
All of the body panels are rust free and solid. The frame looks solid as well. Mechanically, the car is well sorted as the engine starts right up and runs strong. It is mated to a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive and it shifts smoothly through all of the gears.

Upon a close inspection, there are a few issues with the paint including chips and areas where it looks to have not had a final wet-sanding causing a slight texturing. There is also an area along the rear deck where the hard top and soft top lock in that the gasket stuck to the surface. This should be easily removed, but it was thought best to leave it to someone who has more experience. Thisparticular car could be considereda better than driver quality example and can be enjoyed as-is for years to come or serve as a platform for a nut-and-bolt restoration. Please look closely at the pictures and don't hesitate to ask any questions.
