Description for Ford Mustang 1970

Vehicle has gone through a very laborious true rotisserie restoration. This Mach 1 is of the quality you will find at Barrett Jackson. A matching numbers vehicle that has been restored to factory appearance and brought back to or exceeding a factory built car (in look and performance). To be clear, every single part of the vehicle was restored, including but not limited to each nut and bolt. The undercarriage of this vehicle is as pristine as the exterior and engine compartment. The restoration began with complete disassembly, with complete stripping & beading blasting of the entire vehicle.

Upon reassembly, all miscellaneous parts have been powder coated to match factory appearance. All attaching hardware was replaced with new parts from AMK products. All sheet metal is clean & straight (absolutely no use of body filler) epoxy primed and blocked. Matter of fact the entire car has been epoxy primed inside and out. The undercarriage and Interior is coated with DP90 epoxy primer for texture, sound proofing and finish. Exterior paint is base / clear coat, factory 'D' yellow.

The H-Code 351-Windsor V8 has been mildly rebuilt; roller rocker arms, ported and flowed heads, (1.94” intake / l.60” exhaust valves). Aluminum intake and Holly 780cfm carb sits inside the bonnet of a Cobra Paxton supercharger. Exhaust is through ceramic coated headers & 2.25” Boss-302 duel exhaust via Dr. Gass synchronizing crossovers, (all ceramic coated)

The rebuilt automatic transmission receives the horsepower and transmits it to a powder coated drive shaft into the rear differential powder coated housing that encases 3.60 traction-loc gears. The power is then transferred to a set of 8"x15" Magnum 500 wheels with 245/60 BFG Tires that respond to a close ratio 16:1 Boss-302 steering box, that are mounted to a new Magna suspension system.

The suspension consists of KYB shocks, 620lb rate front coils - 1 1/8" front sway bar, 3/4" rear sway bar & Shelby inspired lowered front A-arms.

The interior is deluxe trim with new Mach 1 knitted vinyl high back bucket seats and new headliner.

The Original Deluxe 3-Spoke Rim-Blow steering wheel is mounted on a tilt away steering column. The instrument panel, center consoleand AM radio are all original. The stock Mach 1 Clock has been retro fitted with a quartz movement. Insulation was installed under all carpeting, floors & firewall.

Everything that could be Powder Coated has been: Including the rear differential housing, drive shaft, rear leaf springs, front coil springs, front & rear sway bars, suspension parts, engine braces & cross members, valve covers, COBRA Aluminum oil pan, hinges & latches, pulleys and brackets, fan, battery tray, rear brake drums, front brake dust shields, as well as other miscellaneous parts and attaching hardware.

Why am I selling my Mach1?

Had this Mach 1 since high school. Thirty six years now. Loved it. Drove it every day with my high school sweetheart. Went through college with it. Found a job. Drove it to work. Even back then, the Mach 1 turned a lot of heads. Married my high school sweetheart. Still drove it to work, but not as much. Then I came into some unexpected funds. Decided that I loved this car so much that I wanted it to be new again with some nice refining touches. Found an outstanding restorer and decided to turn the Mach 1 over to him with explicit instructions to make this Mach 1 a true rotisserie restoration. Two years later and more money than I had intended, I had my completely restored Mach 1, which would not offend Mustang purists but perform at a level comparable to a Cobra. Already having two children, working Mother and a new management position at my employment, I found little time to enjoy the Mach 1. As the years past I became the owner of the company, I had worked at for so many years. Now I walk into my garage and stare at the Mach 1 with no time to enjoy it. So, it’s time to unbridle this pony, let her out of her stable to explore greener pastures. I know someone will enjoy this Mach 1 as much as I have.
