Description for Ford F-250 1973
Want a nice Classic Highboy ??Up for bid is this good looking 1973 Ford F250 Highboy 4X4. This is an original Highboy from Idaho's high desert area and is a western No Rust Ever vehicle. It is equipped with a powerful rebuilt Ford 428 FE V8 from a 1966 Mercury Police Car. The dash pictures were taken with the engine running, so you can see the oil pressure, engine temp, volt's and engine rpm's on a 50 degree Idaho day. The truck has it's original Dana 44/60's and divorced transfer case 4 wheel drive system. This truck is in very good condition, that said it is not a Pebble Beach Ferrari, it's 44 year old pickup and it has been used as such. This truck came with original Power Steering and Power Brakes from the factory and still works as they should. It has 315 / 70 / R17 tires mounted on heavy duty aluminum wheels, so it sets tall in the saddle. The tall tires make it a good cruiser on the highway because the tire height lowers engine RPM (remember original highboy's have 4:10 gears). This truck has not been lifted, the paint is 5 years old and has held up well with a very nice patina, the original color was red, the door jambs, cab, interior and under hood area's still retain that color. The truck has been garage kept during non use times and has been very well cared for. This truck was built several years ago to pull a 26 foot Aluminum jet river boat for local steelhead fishing on the Salmon river, there was a 100 gallon fuel tank installed in the trucks pickup box so the river boat could be fueled in remote locations, that has since been removed. Originally it had two fuel tanks from the factory, the rear one was removed when the 100 gallon fuel tank was installed. If you like attention "This Truck Gets lot's of Looks and Compliments" everywhere !!" This is a very good example of one of the "Finest Pickup's Ever Built ". It's powerful and just run's and drives great ..... You can fly in and drive this one home or I can give you recommendations on shipping . I'd highly encourage you to inspect this vehicle in person, if thats not possible eBay does offer a pre- purchase inspection service for a reasonable nominal fee. Question's ?? please call (208) 463-6364 . Happy Holidays and best of luck with your bidding.
