Description for Ford Other 1940
You are looking at a very nice 1940 Ford Deluxe Sedan Delivery. This Delivery is running a 59AB Flathead motor with the stock column shift 3-speed and stock rear end. The drive train all works good, the motor runs good with a little smoke. All new brake shoes, wheel cylinders and new master cylinder.
The radiator has been gone through, new hoses and antifreeze. The carburetor has been rebuilt, new oil and oil filter. The gas tank was removed, cleaned and a new liner was installed.
This car has a nice frame and excellent floor guards as you can see in the pictures. The front end has been lowered with a reversed eye spring and two springs removed. We removed three springs from the rear to drop it down to where you can see it in the pictures. It has newly installed running board mats, new exhaust with headers and glass packs, new front windshields and rubber, new rear window with new rubber as well. Side windows are stock, but have cracks (refer to picture).
The 15-inch wheels are stock, they are 5 on 5 1/2 with reversed wheels in the rear. The hubcaps and beauty rings are new. Tires are 205/65/15 on the front and 235/70/15 in the rear.
This old Ford was completely painted with semi-gloss urethane paint, no spray paint, sealer or primer was used. It still has the original brown paint on the firewall and interior. This Delivery has original reupholstered seats, original wood on the rear floor and original cardboard side panels. Nice older rubber floor mat. All the body moldings are in excellent shape, no dents, nice deluxe grill and fog lights. All the lights work, only the oil and amp gauges work. This car has a new vinyl wiring loom with a cloth covering to resemble the stock style, looks original!
This old car has a great look, and it doesn't get much better than a 1940 Ford Deluxe. All the work on this car has been done in the last 6 months, so it is fresh, not restored, but somewhere in between.
