Description for Ford Galaxie 1963

This car has been my daily driver for five years. The mileage is actually 64K. according to mechanic has not turned over. I never intended this car to be a show car. However. we do go to car shows and have been in parades. I have traveled hundreds of miles before to buy a car and so I want to be very clear on this Galaxie's condition. So. let me mention a few things on my to do list if i were keeping it:*headliner/new carpet*check front left brake line because of periodic slight pull to the left upon braking (I am used to it)*Someday replace seats or reupholster (simple covers have worked for the past few years for me)*for the last 5. 00 miles. it has a slight hesitation going into second on about 1 out of four sharp right turns (replaced the modulator and that helped for a while)*rebuild power steering pump (grunts at start up if it has not been driven for a few days. then handles and works smooth great)*trunk lock opens with any key*voltage regulator for fuel gauge( I usually note my mileage)*rear passenger door open linkage disconnectedNow. for the positives:*New steel belted radial tires with less than 1. 00 miles (including new spare) These 50 year old wheels hold air great. *newly installed U-Joints 100 miles ago*New ball joint/tie rods work with alignment about 500 miles ago*Very strong engine with fresh rebuilt Holley 4 brl carb*new power steering cylinder boot*new clean heater and defroster venting*new heater core-nice warm heat and defrost*16. 6 mpg on the highway*pulled all interior out to replace small amount of a floorpan with good metal and then undercoated the whole inside and out about four years ago*only about a tennis ball's worth of Bondo in the whole car*Drives very straight and true. very very road worthy*All lighting functional. bright. and reliable*Federal Beacon light on top is bright and rotates perfectly (quite nice for parades) no siren*Authentic vintage Ford dog dish hubcaps for a police vehicle. * I have original gas tank door and many other small parts for the car including all hardware for a new headliner except material. * This car has a unique paint appearance on all outside surfaces and all door jambs and inside trunk and hood lids. It is enamel. not lacquer. It is not high gloss. nor is it flat. It has a matte finish that makes the car really look its age. warts and all. Most people. before they read the door shield. ask if it is really an old police car. Every day as I drive it. people wave and honk as they see it coming and I can always count on someone wanting their picture taken with it as lots of folks remember the Andy Griffith Show. The door shields are professionally made and have been on the car for four years now. so you can see how well they hold up. The Mt. Pilot Ford was my additional touch on the trunk. Here is the thing. We moved about a year ago to a rural and somewhat mountainous part of Missouri; lots of curvy roads. This was my wife's and my fun everyday second car. but her vertigo does not do well riding in the squad car anymore. If you have ever owned a Galaxie. you know they are a boat. I am needing to sell the car and get a truck for our second car now. Time to move on. My starting price is about what we have in the car. I want to sell it for a fair price. but let the buyer be assured. it is an everyday driver that will take you literally anywhere. not a glistening show piece you won't want to get wet or dirty if need be. She'll go hundreds of miles and has not overheated or given me any trouble. I have put lots of pictures up to make certain you see what you are bidding on. Look them over before you bid. There is no reserve price. I put the starting bid where I thought was a fair low end.
