Description for Ford F-100 1965

Selling my 1965 Ford F-100. I bought this truck about 2 years ago. with the intention of keeping it for a long time. making it a reliable driver. and then restoring it. Unfortunately. life often has other plans. and so now I am listing my baby for sale. When I bought the truck. it was bone stock except for the clean airbag installation that was installed by the previous owner. who is a great metal fabricator from the Stockton. CA area. The bags were installed along with dropped DJM I-beams in the front. and a triangulated 4 link in the rear. The truck has the perfect rat rod patina. Original paint. very minimal body damage. and with almost no major rust issues. The only major rust to be repaired are two of the support beams under the cab floor. which are not critical pieces to be replaced right away. and are easily ordered from aftermarket suppliers. As someone who has been doing high end professional restorations for the past 10 years. I can assure you. that this truck would be a great foundation for a restoration project. Pretty much everything works and the truck can easily be your daily driver if you so choose. If the little six cylinder is not to your performance liking. you can easily swap in the original motor's bigger brother. the 300ci straight six. which can be found in many different Fords from 1965 to 1996. They are the exact same block. so no modifications would be necessary unless you wanted to put the fuel injected variant in. The truck currently has the following- Original 240ci Straight Six (in great condition. all cylinders have good compression)- Weber DGV downdraft carburetor (the original carb was finicky. apparently even when new)- Original Load-O-Matic distributor ditched for a new vacuum advance style one- Used C4 Automatic Transmission from a 65 Mustang(the original 3 on the tree with OD was crapping out)- New custom cut driveshaft- Original Ford 9-inch rear axle with 4. 11 gears (I have a clean center section with 3. 00 gearing. that I haven't installed yet. but will include with the truck)- Front end conversion from a '75 F-100. giving the truck disc brakes. and power steering- New Steering box. steering linkage. and tie-rod ends- New brass king pin bushings that were machined for a perfect fit (No sloppy steering)- New power steering pump- New Master Cylinder. proportioning valve. calipers. pads. rotors. nbsp;wheel bearings. and stock flexible lines in the front. - New Bosch battery- New Summit Racing Crossflow radiator and 6 blade fan- Custom enclosure for air compressors. tank. and solenoids installed in the rear under the bed. disguised as a gas tank- Via-Air gauges. and OTC control switches for air bags mounted in custom box below the factory radio- Maroon powder coated wheels with bias-ply white wall tires with plenty of tread left. Bias-ply tires. if you weren't aware. do not like grooves in modern roads. and will tend to steer the truck a bit for you. but is easily controlled as long as you are aware of it. I was planning on. but never got around to purchasing and installing radial white walls. Things that could use some attention- The Weber DGV has the stock off the shelf setup. which is pretty close to what is needed. but it could use some fine tuning. as the truck can be hard to start up when it sits for a long time (but it does start every time). and the gas mileage is on the low end for a 6 cylinder. Otherwise it hums around town just fine. - The transmission works great. but I do need to mention that it turns out that it is what is referred to as a "green dot" transmission. This means the first drive selection will start in 2nd gear and shift up to 3rd. so you have to pop the column shifter one more selection down in order for it to drive normally. starting with 1st gear. - It is missing an E-brake setup. The factory one will not clear the lowered suspension. so a new setup will need to be devised. I never got around to it because I installed the C4. which keeps the truck in place when it's in Park. That's about it for now. I hope the new owner can provide a good home for this beast. as it definitely deserves it. Like any other old vehicle up for sale. the truck will be sold as is. I have tried to be thorough in my description. but if you have any specific questions. or would like detailed images. just send me a message. Please do not attempt to contact the shop shown on the side of the truck. Thanks for your time!
