Description for Ford Coupe 1950
You already knew the 1950 Ford coupe was an ideal hot rod. But when it's been built with bold paintwork, A/C comfort, and a performance flathead under the hood, then it's everything you want in a custom... and best of all, it's ready to be yours today.Everyone loves the sleek look of Ford's first post-war design. It was fairly groundbreaking when it first appeared, which is why it became the darling of the custom car crowds. This legacy is seen on nearly every inch of the exterior. The ultra sleek body is free from clutter like door handles (you have remote door poppers instead.) This allowed for the slick black paint to be applied with so much modern clearcoat that the sides almost still look wet. And of course those custom flames really seal the deal. The red fireball with white etching is a theme that's carried throughout the car, including on the bullet nose and wheel/whitewall combo. And of course, a hot rod is not complete without some great brightwork. The wraparound bumpers, wide grille, and lake pipes all come together for a truly standout package. The interior was given a makeover that respects the original design, yet adds a few modern functional upgrades. It starts with a return of the red and white accent theme from the exterior. There was a nice investment so that the seats, door panels, headliner, carpeting, and dash all feel exceptionally fresh and stay within the two-tone theme. That cool two-spoke steering wheel with bright trim, is pure 1950s space-race cool. In fact, the whole dash stays true to the original, right down to the gauge package. You even still have the AM radio! But this one is built to be a cruiser, so as you look closer, you can see some very handy modern touches. This includes an iPod hookup for the radio and a modern R-134a air conditioning system. And that set of auxiliary readouts a just beneath it are a nice indication that there's something special under the hood.Grab your sunglasses before popping the hood, because the red block and all those polished components just look like they are radiating power from inside the dark engine bay. Overall, it has the kind of tidy presentation that will make you love opening the hood at car shows. But when you look beyond the shine, you'll see a 239 cubic-inch flathead V8 that has been built for reliable performance. It now features a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Offenhauser heads, and a new aluminum radiator. The V8 makes a seriously sweet rumble from the glasspack dual exhaust, and you're in complete control of the powerband thanks to the three-speed manual transmission.Complete with owner's manual and a ton of build receipts, this is one of the coolest machines to roll through our showroom. So if you want to command attention even in a crowd of hot rods, it's time to hurry up and call today!!!
