Description for Ford Model A 1930
For Auction: 1930 Ford Model AA cargo body with mechanical dump mechanism. The mechanical dump system is very rare and is all complete and working. It even has the original crank handle! Just like today, someone purchased this in 1930 and then went to an aftermarket company to have the dump system installed. Examples of the mechanism can be found in the book Truck Owner Ford Model AA by A.G. McMillan. The truck runs and drives. It is missing the seat which has been replaced by a wooden seat made by a farmer a very long time ago. Missing driver's door glass. The original vinyl top is also gone (and wood bows) and has been replaced by a piece of sheet metal attached with slotted screws and square nuts. Obviously also done many years ago after the top gave out. There is one small area of rust in the bottom rear of the cab. Other than that the entire truck is sold as a rock. I believe it still has the original wood floors. It has your typical dings and dents but the cab/doors etc are straight as can be. No rust in fenders or running boards. Frame is straight and only patina. I cannot find any body filler anywhere. The wood box is extremely clean including the floor which is not rotted out at all. I was told that from years of hauling grain that basically the wood has been preserved. Wiring would need to be fixed. It needs new tires if you are going to drive on the road. They are fine for tooling around a large farm. There might be a little something here or there but it's actually unbelievable how solid and complete the truck is. I do not have the time to do justice to this piece of history. I consulted with members of the Model AA club and it's definitely rare to see a survivor like this, especially with the dump mechanism. (Easy to use, just insert the handle and crank like a trailer jack... almost no effort)The truck will have to be trailered, I won't let it drive away due to the condition of the tires. Plus I think it would take you forever to drive home :) This truck comes with a clean matching title. I can take whatever pictures you would like for serious inquiries.
The truck is for sale/trade locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction if a local buyer comes forward.
