Description for Ford Mustang 1967
ONE OWNER 1967 Mustang Survivor!!!Barn find (Carport find) 1967 Mustang hardtop in "AS FOUND CONDITION" --A client called me about this Mustang. Too many cars right now, so offering AS FOUND-- (I have not touched the car, other than airing up tires and flatbed towing vehicle to my property.I did not even clean the trunk or glove box out other than grabbing documents to photograph).
In 1967 "Sally" and her husband "Gene" drove down to Robinson & Lyon Ford in Seattle Washington. "Sally" picked out an Arcadian Blue 1967 Hardtop because she liked the color and could see over the hood! Sally's friends called her "Mustang Sally" after the Wilson Pickett song (Still do). "Mustang Sally" worked at the school nearby and drove the Blue Mustang very little. In fact, by the 1970's, the car had less than 10,000 miles! At some point "Mustang Sally" backed into a pole (probably around early1980's), and the car was driven rarely after that. The last time the car was driven was 2012 when her husband "Gene" had the car serviced, a new battery installed and a tune up done.
"Mustang Sally's" Arcadian Blue 1967 Mustang sat under the same carport from the day she brought it home in February 1967, until recently (The last photo is a rare snowstorm in 1968, you can see the Mustang under the carport). That carport protected the Mustang from the elements, and because Seattle doesn't get much snow or use salt, there is VERY little rust.
This Mustang is almost COMPLETELY original (Other than tires and a few items). The Original BF Goodrich "Silvertown" spare tire was mounted on the car for quite a few years, but it is present and holds air. The interior is in spectacular condition for a 50 year old Mustang. The seats have the correct stitching, and the headliner isn't even stained! The dash pad is NOT cracked and overall the interior just needs a good cleaning, touch up and some very minor restoration (with the exception of the steering wheel which is cracked).
The paint is completely original (Driver's side is like chalk and flaking offfrom 50 years of sun sweeping across that side, causing some primer and surface rust to show). There are a few small rust spots that will need attention (dime size on bottom front leadingcornerof doors, minor spot on the driver's 1/4 panel, and a few other very common but minor spots). Under the hood is all original with grease pencil marks still visable. Floors and trunk are ROCK SOLID!
NOTHING TO HIDE... Over 100 photos on Flickr (copy and paste:flickr.com/photos/147415757@N03/ ), and anything else you want photographed, just let me know.
The worst damage is the rear bumper, and dent on the decklid and some damage to the taillight panel. The car needs a re-spray, so this can all be attended to. DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE STRUCTURAL, I am tempted to pull the back bumper...)
It is RARE to find a 50 year old car with 25,000 original miles, even harder to findan ICON like a Mustang with an attractive color combination!
I have the original owners manual, application for title from 1967, almost every registration from 1967 through the 2000's, and the original warranty cards (Look like credit cards) as well as the metal warranty plate in the original envelope, and a brochure/ send help poster. The clear Washington title is ready to go! Also have an affidavit signed by the original owner that 25,994.6 is the correct original mileage!
People say it ALL THE TIME, but it's true: "They are only ORIGINAL ONCE"! Buy the car and do whatever you want with it. In my opinion, this car should be carefully taken apart, minor repairs made, resprayed and put back together. The interior is 90% perfectly reusable, mechanicals only have 25k miles, glass is good, etc. In fact, paint could be done partially to try to save as much of the original paint as possible!
Now is your chance to bid or "Buy It Now" AS IS and do it your way. If it does not sell by the end of auction, the car will go into my shop to be cleaned up, gone through mechanically and enjoyed a bit.
