Description for Ford F-250 1994

1994 Ford F250 4X4 7.3 Turbo Diesel
You are looking at asolidold truck. With low miles. It has the desirable 7.3 IDI factory turbodiesel engine with an automaticoverdrivetransmission. It has all the XLT options like Power Windows, Locks, A/C, Cruise, Factory AM/FM Cassette, It has a manual shifting transfer case, and manual lockout hubs. These trucks are becoming more difficult to find.
I purchased this truckabout 8 months ago from an oldergentleman. It had been sitting for years on his property and wasn't operational. The body issolid withlittle to norust. As you can see in pictures the paint is shiny It is rubbed through in some spots fromwear and age. The paint also exhibits cracking on the doors and cabsides and there are quite a few decent sized dents around the truck in various places.I've tried to show pictures of these areas. The cab corners are rock solid as are the rocker panels and floor pans. The doors and tailgate seams are also clean with no visible signs of rust or bubbling. The box sides and fenders alsoappear to besolid. The truck was missing the factory fender open moldings so I installed a used set I had from another truck. There is some rust underneath the box on the cross bracesbut it isn't a structural issue at this timeand the box flooris still nice and solid. At one time It was equipped with a gooseneck ball in the box. The mounting plate is still there but the ball has been removed anda bed liner installed. The truck has heavy duty rear springs and seems like it could tow a house. The interior is clean, the seat has some wear but no rips, the carpeting has some discoloration but no holes, the headliner is nice, the dash has a crack in the pad, The power windows and locks are in working order, The radio is operational including the LCD display. The gauges are also in working order. The glow plugs are working and the truck starts fine unless it gets too cold then you have to plug it in.The tires are in near new conditionand a matched set of Firestone Steeltek A/T.
As I previously stated the truck wasn't running when I bought it. I was looking for a good tow rig for my enclosed trailer and these trucks have a good reputation for power and fuel economy. In the time I've owned this truck I've driven itonly a couplehundred miles.I've basically driven it enough to find and repairproblems necessary to make it anice driver.Since I purchased this truck I found a crew cab which was my original choiceso I decided to sell this one. I will make a list of all the things I've repaired. I would add I believethe majority of the repairs were necessarybecausethis truck sat for so long.
Ibelieve the reason the prior owner quit driving the truck was two fold. The first was a broken shifter shaft. (common issue on these ford trucks.)It is mounted to the top of the column and makes it possible to shiftthe transmission. I removed the column and replaced the shaft with a new one from ford as well asnew bushings. Then I found the injection pump had failed. I replaced the pump with a remanufactured unit from Pensacola Diesel. When I asked the representative about the pump failure he informed me it's becoming more and more common. The modernblended diesel fuel doesn't last as long as the old stuff and it can harm the seals in the pump if the truck isn't driven regularly. I haveused an additive in the fuelsince replacing the pump. The new pumpis the step up unit, offering a small bump in power output without the need to increase injector size. The truckstill retains the stock turbo, exhaust and injectors. It hasn't been modified in any other way that I know of.
Once I got the truck up and running I replacedboth front brakecalipers with reman units from Napa along with premium brake pads. Ialso replaced both frontrubber brake hoses and a section of rear brake line along the axle. I changed the oil, and fuel filter, I replaced the transmission filter and pan gasket, then topped it off with fresh fluid. I replaced various rubber fuel hoses that seemed to be old and cracked. I installed a new air filter and block heater cordas well. The rear driveshaft needed one u-joint so I installed a premium Napa spicer joint. The front axle needed both outerU-jointsreplaced with Napa units. The rear fuel tank was leaking so I replaced that with a new one. The front tank is still original and was in working order so I never addressed that one. The fuel gauge works and so does the tank switcher. Both outer tie rod ends had play in them so they got replaced and so didthe R.H. upper and lower ball joints.
I'm sure there's more things I've forgotten about but you get the point. I was planning on making this my dependable tow rig so everything I repaired I used good quality parts so I wouldn't have any problems on the road. I've driven this truck around town mostly withmy longest journey about 150 miles round trip. The truck goes down the road nicely. The cruise works, transmission shifts smoothly, and the truck hasplenty of power for anything I needed it for. As you can tell I've spent thousands of dollars on this truck making it a driver. My last trip with it went smoothly and I believe it's ready for daily use. As with any old vehicle there may be other things that will need attention in the future but I've gotten it to a place I feel comfortable using it to tool around in. Basically withsome paint and dent repair this truck could be very nice and if your looking at this you know how expensive and desirable these have become.
I've done my best to be as complete and detailed as possible with my description. If you have any questions or would like additional pictures feel free to call 612-282-8793. I can help arrange shipping if necessary.
