Description for Ford Thunderbird 1965
CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. This car has been relisted due to the fact that a buyer didn't read the entire ad and couldn't adhere to the terms f the sale. Please read the ENTIRE AD for all pertinent information on this car and the complete terms of purchasing this car and terms of the sale. Up for sale and your consideration is a really nice 1965 Ford Thunderbird Custom Landau. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have listed here. I welcome and encourage an in person viewing of the car by appointment during the listing period, to any prospective buyer to answer any questons that they may have.
Here is a very nice 1965 Ford Thunderbird Custom Landau with only 73,844 original miles. It was purchased from the family ofa deceased owner after resting in storage for a few years. It is not a 100 point show car and did not spend its whole life in the Arizona desert. It is priced for what it is, a turn key car with great curb appeal that can be enjoyed the day it is purchased. It was occasionally started while in storage and was treated to many replacement parts to bring it back to being a reliable and road worthy car. Those items are as follows: tires, battery, alternator, regulator, carb rebuild, gas tank cleaning, temperature, oil, fuel senders, hood to cowl seal, trunk weather stripping, trunk mat set, carpeting, plugs, points, condensor, cap, rotor, wires, oil lubrication and fluid check.
Data plate reveals that this car was built in Metuchen, NJ on April 5, 1965. It left the factory equipped with a 390 engine (code-Z), a cruise-o-matic transmission (code-4) and a 300-1 ratio rear axle (code-1). It was painted palomino (code-29) and has a navajo beige interior (code-T). It is well equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, factory air conditioning, (complete, but not working), AM/FM radio, swing away steering wheel, sequentional turn signals, back up lights, tinted glass and seat belts.
This Thunderbird was last inspected in Penna in 1989 at which time it was branded as an antique. The 1989 inspection stickers are still intact and reveal the mileage at this time was 72,680, so this car was literally only driven 1,164 in the last 27 years!
Driveline: The original engine runs quiet with no smoke, the transmisson shifts fine and there are no exhaust leaks.
Interior: The interior is mostly originalwith the exception of new carpeting and door panel guards on the finger cups. There are no rips or cracks visible. All lights work. Radio, heater blower, wipers, and horn work. All gauges work fine. Air conditioner does not. As you can see in the photos, the interior is very nice.
Body: It appears this vehicle received a repaint some time ago. It still looks good, but close inspection reveals a few imperfections due to age, again this is not a show car nor is it priced as such. There are no rust holes visible. Bumpers are original. Tinted glass has no cracks or milking. Underside inspection reveals this vehicle was undercoated from new, providing some protection from the northeast winters. An 11 1/2 x 16 section of the driver's floor was replaced properly with heavy sheet metal and a welder, not license plates and pop rivets. The car rides on 225-75-R15 Cornell all season radials. Original jack is in the proper storage area in the trunk.
This is an honest appraisal of this car. In person viewing of this vehicle is welcome and encouraged to satisfy any doubts about condition by appointment only. My long term 100% feedback rating speaks for itself. The vehicle has been priced fairly and sensibly so even a working class buyer can afford it. Any and all inspections will occur before purchase and not after. It is being sold as-is where-is with no specific warrantys or guarantees. The day you buy it, it becomes you car.
Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence. After reading the entire description and looking at all the photos feel free to ask any and all questions on the car. I have accurately and honestly described this car to the best of my ability, based on a thorough inspection, servicing, driving and detailing of the car. This car is sold in as-is condition with NO actual, expressed, implied or written warranty or guarantee of any kind. If any prospective buyer has any question as to the integrity and condition of this vehicle, again I welcome and encourage an in-person viewing by appointment during the listing period to answer any and all questions that you may have. The most accepted, encouraged and preferred method of completing the sale is a funds in hand purchase and a local pick up of the vehicle that way you leave with car and title in hand. Any other method of completing the sale must be discussed and approved first. If a buyer requests shipping, it will be their financial responsibility. I will be happy to reasonably assist in the appoointment set-up, pick-up, and loading of the car. Remember if you live 3000 miles away it will be expensive to ship the car. Shipping costs do not affect the value or price of this car at all. Shipping is a seperate cost. There will be an Ebay required, $300.00 non-refundable paypal deposit to be paid by the buyer to commit to the sale. The deposit must completed within 48 hours as per Ebay's terms of sale, and car paid in full by 7 days of commiting to sale as per Ebays terms of sale. I look forward to a smooth and easy sale here. Lastly any questions please do not hesitate to CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Thank you and good luck!
**AFTER SEVERAL COMMENTS AND INQUIRIES FROM PROSPECTIVE BUYERS, WE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND OUT TWO VERY IMPORTANT THINGS ON THIS THUNDERBIRD; THE VIN# ON THE TITLE, DATA PLATE, RADIATOR SUPPORT AND COWL ALL MATCH. THIS CAR IS A 1965 FORD THUNDERBIRD. IT WAS ALSO DISCOVERED THAT SOMETIME IN THE LIFE OF THIS VEHICLE SOMEONE DECIDED THEY LIKED THE 1966 ROOF AND 1966 TAIL LIGHTS BETTER THAN THE 1965, SO THEY WERE BOTH CHANGED. SO IF YOU WANT SOMETHING UNIQUELY CUSTOM AND ONE OF A KIND, THIS IS IT ! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN AACA SENIOR BADGE WINNER THEN THIS ISN'T YOUR CAR. IT'S STILL A GREAT LOOKING AND GREAT RUNNING CAR.I AM LOOKING FOR A RESPECTABLE OFFER. IF I LIKE YOUR OFFER THEN YOU BUY THE CAR. MANY THANKS TO THE T-BIRD BUFFS WHO PROVIDED VALUABLE INFORMATION THAT WAS VERY HELPFUL IN SOLVING THIS MYSTERY OF THIS CAR. PICTURES OF ALL THE VIN #S AND WELD BEHIND THE REAR DOOR PANEL ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741 THANKS AND GOOD LUCK !
