Description for Ford Mustang 1969
Hello and Welcome!
Here is my 1969 Mach 1 Mustang up for auction with a 351 Windsor (not sure if original) and non stock 4 speed manual transmission. It came with a 3 speed in 1969 per Marti Report. Original color was Acapulco Blue. The interior is black as you can see. I bought the car and had in mind to keep but I miss my Aston Martin DB7 so it's back to Astons for me. I love this one but can't afford both. :) I've owned over 100 odd sportscars but please know I'm not a mechanic nor a body/restoration professional. I'm like a lot of people....I buy, drive, enjoy and tinker with what I know I can fix. This car is a bit older restoration but the paint is much newer as you can see in the photos. It's nice and shined up great after a good wash and hand drying. With waxing it would really look nice. It's interior should really be updated to reflect the Mach 1 original interior in my opinion and most everything is here. Ebay has seat kits very reasonable for the front and back. There are some expensive red/black seat covers in the trunk of the car but I hate covers....so I took them off. Those covers are padded and not cheap looking. The car is not a rust bucket yet it has had some small panels welded in the wheel well area in a couple of places and one place underneath. There are no areas I can find where you can put your finger through so no worries here. Floor boards are good....I would say it's been undercoated many years back but most of that is coming off and just light surface rust appearing. I didn't get time, but if I were keeping it I would replace the leaf springs on the rear which are about $200 for a set.....no because they are bad.....but because they are with surface rust. Would just look nicer underneath. I just spent about $500 bucks putting 4 new shocks all the way around, and I also had the brakes redone with new shoes, turned, wheel bearings, steering adjusted to take out the bit of play in it and some front bushings put in underneath and oil has been changed recently, also a new fuel pump and it has a new Edelbrock Carburetor - 4 barrel. Car runs and drives fine and I just took it on about a 60 mile roundtrip and no real problems. Sound nice and strong and engine idles maybe around 850 rpm. I have no idea if this is correct idle speed....but feels right to me. Headliner has been redone and has a hole near the front so plan on redoing this if you like, I have new/used quarter trim pieces that go on the inside area of each side of the windshield. This black trim is broken on the car right now.....but new pieces are ready to install. Oh....windshield has a small C - Shaped crack on the very bottom of passengers side so that needs to be done one day as well, but rest of glass is fine. Mileage on car shows a bit over 42K miles.....yet in SC they exempt cars mileage on automobiles of this age.
I do not need any help selling and I'm not interested in trading unless you have an older 1990s Aston DB7 coupe, Lotus Esprit or Maserati Merak to trade on. I'm not on eBay but maybe once a day so bear with me if you have questions and I'll try to answer as soon as I get online. I don't do the smartphone thing....so have to get to my laptop or desktop before I can read them. Thanks in advance for your understanding. I've been on EBay since 1998 with 100% Positive Feedback and I take pride in listing as honest as I can......although it's near impossible to think of everything on a car this old with things it will need. OH........the hood springs are off of the car right now and I'm propping up the hood when needed. I was told there is a common problem with this and there is a slight dent near where each hood spring goes...but it's something that can be fixed of course. I honestly can't think of anything else.......thanks and wish you the best.
NOTE: Fund must be secure in my hands before the car leaves the state. I will help arrange shipping if needed as I have a guy out of Charlotte, North Carolina that I've used a couple of times and they do a great job. I had my previous Aston shipped from Orange County, California for $850 dollars just two years ago. They are very reasonable if you're patient with them to get the car when they have a near full load going your way. Funds should be bank check drawn on Suntrust Bank or similar, or cash of course. Do not send any funds without speaking to me first. I will not take paypal for this car, yet I do require $1000 downpayment to let me know you're serious within 48hours via paypal.
