Description for Ford Mustang 1986
For sale is an original California 1986 Mustang GT convertible that appears to be a 70,000 original mile car (according to CarFax) with some tasteful upgrades applied some years ago.
The already functional interior has upgraded with Corbeau front seats upholstered to match the rear seat and provide a much improved driving experience compared to the original seats. There is also an aftermarket tachometer to keep track of the engine rpms as well as an upgraded Kenwood head unit so you can enjoy the music of your choice with the top down.
Of course since this is a Mustang GT the engine is the star, and it has also been upgraded quite a bit. There is a Cobra intake in residence under the hood to handle the extra air coming through the mass air that is being pressurized by a Paxton supercharger. All of this is lit off by a complete MSD ignition and the exhaust side has been addressed to expel the spent gas through Hooker equal length headers, and off road X pipe and Flowmaster one chamber mufflers and full tail pipes. The exhaust note (and power) is also enhanced by a slightly larger camshaft of unknown specs but the driveability is retained by the addition of an automatic overdrive and a small stall convertor feeding power to what is believed to be a 3.55 rear gear.
Since this is a convertible that has had a serious power upgrade the suspension has also been addressed with frame connectors added to the factory additional bracing. A nice set of 17 inch wheels and tires are also there for an updated appearance and additional traction as well. The paint appears to be mostly original and in very good condition, as is the convertible top.
According to the included Marti report this car is one of 392 with this paint and trim combination making it very unusual. The only known problem is the right rear quarter window does not roll down but this should be an easy fix for anyone even basic mechanical ability.
Overall this car a low mileage, quick, fun to drive vehicle that can used every day with the added benefit of the top down capability. It is priced at a reasonable $12,500 and shipping can be arranged if necessary for an additional cost. For more information please contact David at Palmetto Classic Cars llc at 864-586-3586.
