Up for sale and your consideration is a beautiful 1929 Ford Hi Boy Roadster that was built by a well known northeast rod builder the traditional way starting with a Henry Ford 1932 frame. A lot of engineering and design went into this professional build. It is a turn key Pennsylvania inspected vehicle that can be enjoyed from the day of purchase. It is not an assortment or aftermarket parts slapped together for a quick flip. Please take the time to look over all 24 photos that I have listed here. Also all inspections of the car will take place before the purchase, not after. Specifications for this car are as follows:
FRAME: 1932 Ford Motor Co frame has been pinched, boxed and modified with a 1937 rear cross member and a model A front cross member moved forward 1 1/2" over built X member. Wheel base is 107".
FRONT SUSPENSION: Reversed eye spring, super bell dropped I beam, 37 ford spindles, tubular shocks on modified F100 brackets, S.A.C. hair pin radius rods. All parts stainless or chromed except shocks.
REAR SUSPENSION: Transverse leaf spring, tubular shocks, owner built 4 bar. Lower rods chromed.
BRAKES: 58 buick finned aluminum drums front and rear. 53 F-3 backing plates in front, 62 buick backing plates in rear. 5 1/2in bolt pattern front and rear.
STEERING BOX: Owner modified through frame; mustang box. 37 Ford column with working ignition switch. 37 Ford banjo wheel with working original horn button.
DIFFERENTIAL: Narrowed 9" Ford with spring mounts added 3:50 to 1 ratio.
MASTER CYLINDER AND CLUTCH COMBO: 62 Chevy pickup
PARKING BRAKE: Modified Model A chromed.
WHEELS AND TIRES: FRONT: 4 1/2" narrowed ford truck with firestone 5.60-15.
REAR: 5 1/2" w/firestone 8.20-15. 5-1/2 bout pattern front and rear.
BODY: 1929 Steel Brookville modifications: Cowl vent installed, recessed lisense plate, bear claw door latches, windshield chopped 2 1/2", 32 grille shell shortened 3", 32 style dash, 35 ford spare tire cover front fenders with owner built brackets, steel rear fenders bobbed front and rear with owner built brackets.
LIGHTS: Dietz front with built in parking light. 50 pontiac rear.
PAINT: Dupont chroma base ford vermillion red.
INTERIOR: Chrysler mini-van second seat upholstered in black marine naugahyde in traditional rolls and pleats.
INSTRUMENTS: Stewart Warner
RADIATOR: Walker shortened 3"
WIRING: Owner.
ENGINE: 1955 Chrysler 331 Hemi with aluminum Weinand manifold topped with three holley 94's with progressive linkage and chrome fuel block. Ignition is Mopar electronic. Stock chrysler exhaust manifolds. Dual exhaust with glass packs. Chromed valve covers, air cleaners and oil cap.
TRANSMISSON: Owner built adapter and flywheel top loader Ford 3speed with chromed jeep shifter.
TRAILER: Matching fiberglass trailer with wooden cooler rack and pop-up canopy rack goes with car. I have a clean Pennsylvania title for this trailer as well.
Car is equipped with a heater, quick disconnect wiper motor, hidden AM/FM radio and removable soft top that stores neatly behind the seat in vinyl cases so it can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of their geographic location.
This car has traveled a lot of trouble free miles and still runs and drives great. It appeared in Street Rodder Magazine in 1999, was a Goodguys Hot Rod of the year finalist in 2005, was a cover car for Hemmings Motor News inDecember 2007and has received numerous awards an trophies.
