Description for Ford Roadster 1932
Hello: I own a Rod Shop in the Saramento, CA. area. I have done a great deal of Work / Repair and Upgrades to this car in the last 2-3 years. I am helping the 82 year owner who can no longer drive it-- sell this car. I do feel I know the car quite well, and can answer any question concerning it. This car was built as a "Resto Rod" in every way. This is a "Glass Body" 1932 Roadster---The body appears to be an early Gibbons / Wescott body with the oringinal looking firewall. Rumble Seat deck lid is fully functional with seat and upolstery. This body is extremly strong and well built. Car was purchesed as a Highboy around 2005 --disassembled and built with the best parts available to what you see now. It has a flat panel "32" dash with AutoMeter gauges. Lokar floor shifter / E Brake. Completely rebuilt GM tilt column (even the Turn Signals) and New LeCarra "Banjo" steering wheel and adapters with changable insert-- currently has the Wood Insert in it. Column is Keyless-- key is in dash. It has a steel original style "Rootlieb Hood". Steel 32 Grille Shell and stainless insert. "Stainless Cowl Lights" are now the front "turn Signals". Car has "Chrome" front and rear bumpers and bumper brackets... The "Top Irons" are like original "Folding" type" and top "does folddown". All the top irons and chrome windshield / post etc are chopped 2 inches with the wing window brackets etc.. Top is covered in Hartz / Mercedes Gray. Body paint color is a Dark Metallic Burgandy with very thin "Gold Pinstriping---Fenders are Black. Paint condition is an 8 maybe a 9---it does have small chips here and there. The fenders are fiberglass. The running boards are "Steel" covered as originals from "Drake". Headlights are Stainless with an Oringinal Headlight Bar and that's an Original 1932 Aooga Horn------Owner bought several horns and sent out the best pieces for new Chrome and had it wired for12v. Spare Tire is from All Orinal Parts- the Rim / an original type Tire / all mounts and an oringinal Key Locking Spare HubCap--with the keys. It also has an Original and Super rare- rear view mirrior "Clock".This was an accessory on very High dollars cars in the 30's--- the owner had to buy 3 just to have enough parts for a Watch / Jeweler person repair and have 1 working. The cost was unreal --- but thats what he wanted and is current mounted in the rear veiw mirrior. This is NO reprodution. The Chassis The Frame is what appears to be a TCI with 4 bar triangulated 9 inch medium bearing rear end with a TCI style Sway Bar and QA1 adjustable / dampening shocks .Rear brakes are large Drum. The ratio is around 3:00 open. Recently the front end suspension was upgraded to "Heihts Super Ride" --IFS with sway bar and QA1 adjustable shocks / rack and pinion steering / Wilwood disc brakes. Front end is done / aligned / adjusted..etc--unbelievable ride---nice. Car stops well. It is as Safe as we can get it, which is a Priority at my Shop. The Motor--Trans -- It has a "New 383 Stroker-short block Chevy motor with new aluminum 194 Edelbrock Heads. Polished intake and new Edelbrock 600 elec.choke Carb and electric fuel pump and a Mild CompCam hydralic cam. Everything under the hood is either polished or chrome. Cooled by "Walker" radiator and "Spal" electric fan. Car runs cool in the summer..... Has "Tight Tuck" type Headers and they are ceramic coated with "DynaFlow" exhaust. aluminum coated 2-1/2 inch through out---sound Mild but Throaty. Trans is a T350 shorty--rebuilt. Drive shaft checked / balanced / and New U-joints. The Interior-- Is a "Gray" fabric material done in a "Traditional" style / carpet is gray-with bucket seats /seats have been cut down to fit the car better--especially the backs. There are seat belts in the front.......I'm 5'7" and there is still 3-4 inches chearance above my head. Rumble Seat deck lid-----is functional--and the seats are in there and upolstered to match interior. Rumble seat has inside release / lock-- from cockpit. Wheels / Tires / Misc.-- Rims are "Coker True Classic" spokes..with the V8 HubCaps. Rims / Tires are NEW with less than 100 miles Fronts are 14x6"----195's Rears are 15x8's--235's Tread is 99% + This car is Super Safe and Exteremly Dependable..........This car Has NEVER been abused the owner never drove it over 50 MPH.....I'm the only other person to ever be allowed to drive this car...I had it out on the freeway and it loves 70----and has plenty of HP and everything is like NEW. Everything Works---Period. There's no way this Car could be built or replaced for anything close to the Reserve. Car has "Clear" title in hand----Car is titled as a 1932 Ford---with correct numbers on frame. All CA. DMV clear with a set of original / restored CA. 1932 YOM License Plates.....current license / tags etc. I highly recommend you or your agent inspect the car prior to bidding.. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Car is being offered As-Is. Offered Locally as well. Payment and Shipping- At Close of Auction--- immediate $1000 deposit is required through PayPal.. Balance is due within 5 busness days. Balance is payable in Cash in Person or Bank Wire Transfer. Shipping is Buyers responsibility---but I will help with appointments for Pick Up and loading..
