Description for Ford MAVERICK 1972
1972 Ford Maverick 6cyl, Factory AC, automatic, power steering. This maverick was purchased with a few other 70's era cars for use in a film production. Sorry to say this Maverick never gained its 15 minutes of fame. So for lack of production I am assisting with the sale of these vehicles. Maverick is in good condition with an older repaint from Green to the color it is now. Metallic Brown. Some of the clear is coming away on the right rear 1/4 panel. We had the brakes done with new front wheels cylinders and rebuilt proportioning valve. Car drives nicely, just made a few trips from here to there about 12 miles either way and on the freeway. NO shimmies or shakes. The NON-power (manual) brakes took a little getting used to. I have not been thru this Maverick with a fine tooth comb. Just checked the basics and all seems well. For the production the car needed to be able to go from here to there dependably and safely. Maverick has spent quit a few years in covered storage with a trip around the block or for groceries every couple weeks. Although the tire show a lot of tread (pics) they are almost 10 years old (by tire date code) which is also a sign of how little the car was driven at least for the last 10 years or so. The shoulder part of the seat belt was removed for the camera shot that was never taken. The Lap belts are functioning. They also broke the antenna, I have a new correct replacement. All AC components intact but needs recharge/conversion. I saw no obvious signs of accidents. No serious rust/Cancer. Interior seats had been redone. Headliner could use some help.
