Description for Ford Model T 1917

This car was built by my Wife's Grandfather about 30-35 years ago. Unfortunately he now has Alzheimer's and I am helping to sell the car.
This is what I know for sure about the car:
- The car has always been garaged and never outside. I have had it covered in my garage for 8-9 years
- The car had not run in 15-20 years and I have been working on it and it now runs very well - (email me for video).
- It has been upgraded to a 12 volt system with a coil and points distributor. I had distributor completely gone through tuned a rebuilt a month ago by a local shop. It has a Blakey distributor adapter that allows it to run off a belt attached to the crankshaft. New coil, battery, points. condenser and original style plug wires.
- The engine was rebuilt when the car was originally done and was only driven to parades and locally around the small town in ND that he lives in. I would guess there is less that 5000 miles on the engine if that.
- The transmission was looked at and has some wear on the bands but was deemed at the time to
be good enough and not rebuilt. Seems to be in the same condition now.
- Brakes function properly, but I have never opened them up as we have never really driven the car.
- The engine is a 1917- built in June. Hand crank - no electric starter.
- All the parts on the car are original Model T parts from various years, all period correct collect over years, then used to build the car (no repop stuff). Radiator has Ford original tag
Things I've been told but cannot verify:
- Grandpa said it was 1915 front fenders and the rear fenders are front fenders from a 1916- I've been told by others they are later models, both front fenders, but more like 1920-22, so not sure about this.
- Grandpa said 1915 frame, wheels front and rear suspension, I don't know.
- He said engine was not rebuilt to stock, it has light weight pistons and upgraded cam. Again, I don't know, but if you are looking for something with original engine parts, keep this in mind as it may be true or may be dementia.
What the car needs to drive:
- It had been a goal of mine for years to get this to start and run. So I disconnected all the Grandpa's original switch wiring (through the mock magneto box shown on "dash") and ran wires direct from the battery. All the original wiring is in place so you can work with what you want or replace it all.
- There is some kind of antique shut off valve on the gas tank and the seals have rotted and it leaks. So you'll need to replace that valve.
- After getting it running the carb gaskets failed and the carb leaks a ton of gas now. So those gaskets need to be replaced and whatever carb rebuilding done then.
I understand these are seemly minor issues that I could fix, but I'm done messing around with this car. I respect that Ford history and that its a 100 years old, that's why I wanted it to run. But things have changed with the family and I have Mustang's that need work, so I'd like this out of my way and I'm tired of the hand crank thing.
I'd be happy to answer any questions...just send an email.
