I bought this ONE OWNER 1978 Ford F-150 pick up truck from a local estate sale. The truck was owned by a local attorney here in the Waukon / Decorah area. I was told about this truck from the person who runs the estate service knowing that I have a collection of classics and that I would be interested in a truck that was for the most part unmolested and original being owned by the same guy since new. I went to look at it and immediately fell in love with the history and look this Ford truck has. Like I said, this is a one owner truck purchased new in 1978. There is a build sheet still under the seat springs (i did not want to take it out in case in is brittle etc) I have the original manuals and the original warranty card as well (all pictured) The miles show 69k and I believe them to be actual (although as truck is ten years or older, it is sold miles exempt)
This truck is equipped with Factory A/C. It needs to be recharged. The AM/FM radio works and all of the gauges are working as far as I can tell. This truck has the 4 speed on the floor ( 3 speed and overdrive 4th gear, no granny gear) it is working great and shifts all gears like it should including reverse. The tires look very good with lots of tred. This ford rode down the road very well and to me, drove just like I pictured a 1978 Ford truck to drive.
This truck has the custom package and is a F-150. It is equipped with the (from what I can see) the original 351 m v 8 engine. The engine runs nice and smooth.Cosmetically this truck has survived very well.This Ford has a immaculate interior.The seat looks great and the the dash etc looks good.I really videoed it well so you can appreciate how clean it is.The paint is 99 percent original (small touch up on edge of rear fender where rust bubbled through etc) make sure to watch the video to see any blemish there was. Rust wis, it is very clean for the age. there was a rust spot on the passenger side cab corner, some bubbling along rear fender,. Really about all I see. I elected to leave it the way it is as the history and patina of the truck is so good, I really wanted to keep it as unmolested as I could. The underside looks clean with only normal road wear. Watch the video, look at the pics, no surprises. If you are looking for a origina, right optioned, driving truck that does not have issues hidden away under fresh paint etc. this is the truck for you. This is definitely something that you can win and drive back home with it or have it shipped feeling great about what you got.
This is definitely a RARE find with the options and history it has and I can see as the years keep adding up, this truck turning more and more collectible and cost wise, more valuable.
