Description for Ford Model T 1925
"The Little Red Truck"
Over 60 years ago, the "Little Red Truck" was found in a Mid-West barn. While the original cab was in good shape and just needed cleaning, the bed was rebuilt using all of the original hardware and new wood by Harold Daily, MD. After rebuilding, the truck spent about ten years in a Texas museum before being sold in June 1974 to the Hasek family of Illinois. In the late 1980's, the bed of the truck was splintered when a tornado hit the pole barn where it was being stored. The damaged wood was replaced and it was rebuilt using the original hardware. In 2000, the "Little Red Truck" was completely disassembled and underwent an extensive restoration (receipts show that $16,000 was spent in the restoration done by Antique & Classic Auto Restoration of Quincy, Illinois. Amazingly, their labor rate back then was $25/hour! Imagine the cost of this restoration if done today!). The truck has a modern reliable distributor ignition system. There are four horns/bells/whistles: the 'ahooga' horn under the hood, a bulb horn on the dash, a trolley bell and an exhaust whistle! In 2012, I purchased this beautiful "Little Red Truck" from the Hasek family and brought her to Connecticut where she has been driven around and been in parades and shows ever since. The Hasek's touted her as being museum worthy and I certainly agreed after seeing and owning the truck.
She starts right up, looks great and runs wonderfully. She's ready to drive the grandkids around and go for long rides. She's a great parade vehicle and crowds love her. Check out all of the pictures (she actually looks better in person). The truck is clean and straight as you can see. She's a really fun ride. Call or message me if you have any questions. You won't find another like it and you won't regret buying her! She is located in SE Connecticut and you are welcome to come to inspect and drive her. My number is 860-908-8123.
I am a serious collector and this truck started it all! So why am I selling her? I've simply run out of space (actually, I'm over-crowded) and I need to sell several of my ten vehicles to make room. Best of luck with your bidding; the person who gets this truck will be very happy they did!
The truck is being sold on a Connecticut Bill of Sale. I also have the two prior Bills of Sale going back to 1974.
