Description for Ford Mustang 1967
Selling my project 1967 Mustang Fastback Eleanor Clone. This is a project. Not all the parts are here to complete the build. You will have to do additional work and fabrication to get the car ready for paint. Additional parts are needed to complete the install of the drivetrain. The car appears to have been a coupe to fastback conversion. The fastback vin # is what appears stamped on the inner fender and matches the title. All this was done prior to my acquisition of the body. The work is well done and it took a professional to point out to me that it was a conversion. Actual mileage on the body is unknown.Body: All the metal work has been done on the body. There is no rust that I have found. It has had the floors and quarters replaced and done well. The cowl exterior grills have been shaved by cutting out the grills and replacing them with metal, also well done. The side scoops are functional and have tubes to cool the rear brakes. The rear taillights panel has had the holes for the taillights welded over to add a fiberglass flat panel to install Shelby style taillights. I did not like this so I have purchased a Shelby taillight panel that will be included with the sale (not installed). The hood that comes with it is a Shelby style hood (not an Eleanor hood) which fits the fiberglass body kit. Also included are the fiberglass fender flares and fiberglass rocker extensions with exhaust cut outs. Side scoops have been fully fitted and work was well done. Front nose has been partially fitted in place. Installation of nose needs to be completed. A set of new Eleanor style grills are included. Doors and fenders are new aftermarket and have not been fully gapped. The original body buck tag that matches the VIN on the fender and title is included. The steering column in the car is a corvette column that was used for mockup purposes only. I was going to add a modern tilt column.
Chassis: The body is sitting on a Schwartz performance G Machine Chassis. The Chassis is a performance full frame that includes rack and pinion steering, coil overs, wildwood disc brakes, a full floating nodular 9" rear end and stainless brake lines. This chassis was over $22,000 to purchase. To install it, the shock towers were cut out (additional fabrication needed to clean up the shock tower area), and other brackets were removed. Body is fully mounted on the chassis. Chassis has been poweredcoated. If you are not familiar with the Schwartz Chassis, go to schwartzperformance dot com. All the information is there. Note that the rear end with this car was a $2500 upgrade over the base and there other upgrades ordered with chassis. Chassis was built with motor mounts for the Ford Modular engines.
Drivetrain: The engine is a 2002 Lincoln Navigator 5.4L 32V modular motor. The motor has been rebuilt and the compression lowered to 9:1 in anticipation of adding a 4L Whipple Blower. One of the pictures has the info on the Comp Cams and pistons that were used. If you do your research on these motors, they will produce a lot of power and this set-up could be capable of 1000 hp with turbos or nitrous. I has planned to autocross the car so wanted the supercharger. No supercharger is included with the sale. I have all the original accessory drive components and computer for the engine. Transmission is a 6 speed Tremec magnum out of a 2012 mustang GT. I have an Eleanor exhaust that is designed to work with the side exhaust set up. I have over $10,000 in this drivetrain.
Other parts: I have original seats, back glass, door glass and guts, all the stainless trim, headlight buckets, interior panels, rear valance, glove box door, heater controls, bumpers, wiper motor and transmission, GT gas cap and emblems and lots of other small parts. Also have a reconditioned instrument cluster with Shelby style bezel. I have pics of all the parts if you want to see them, just couldn't load that many pics.
Tires and Wheels: The car does NOT come with Boyd Coddington wheels seen in the pictures. It will come with a set of 17" wheels with tires that are rollers.
My plan for the car was to make streetable Eleanor Clone that I could also roadrace/autocross. I was using the best components I could find and have well over $50,000.00 into this build. When finished, it will easily be a 6 figure car. I have purchased a house and need to sell some projects to finance some renovations is the only reason I am selling it. Please ask questions. I have done my best to accurately describe the project and to give lots of pictures. The car is at a local shop and is available for inspection during regular business hours or by appointment outside of biz hours. Any of the parts seen around the car in the pictures are not included as they for another build.
Winning bidder to pay a $500 deposit via paypal upon the close of the auction with the balance due in cash or certified funds within 7 days. I will work with your shipped to coordinate the pickup of the vehicle. I can deliver the car and parts on an open trailer east of the Mississippi for $1/mile both directions. Thank you for your interest in my project. On Sep-09-17 at 14:26:47 PDT, seller added the following information:
For transport, i will have the motor and transmission bolted into the car (not complete installation, just enough to secure them for transport), hood will be installed and all other items will be packed inside the car. A ratchet strap will secure both the hood and the trunk. Car will then be wrapped with collision wrap (like shrink wrap but designed for cars) to seal everything in. I will comply with any reasonable requests the buyer has in prepping the car for shipment.
