Description for Ford Mustang 1965
Bid with confidence - great feedback! NOTE: Fluid in pics is just water (I just got done hand-washing it :-) )
For serious, cash buyers - for sale is an outstanding 1965 Ford Mustang. I’ve owned it around 7 years now, and since the resto work I’ve put around 1,500-2,000 miles on it. I purchased it as a project car from someone in Boise, ID. It had been sitting for 2+ years, so it was in much worse condition than I had hoped. That lead me to restore almost everything mechanical / electrical on the car in 2012/13. I thought I’d do it myself, but because of time constraints, I shipped it to a reputable shop that had experience with classics & had them do A LOT of work on it. They are ASE-certified master techs, and complete gear-heads. I trust & have experienced that they did great work. This mustang always turns heads, sounds mean, & is fast. I have NEVER drag-raced it, not even on the street against another car. I just cruise around in it. :-)
This is no show queen, but it is about 90% restored & a lot is like-new. Here’s the gist: It could use (but not mandatory) some minor interior work + minor dash cluster work (2-3 gauges need to be replaced), and if you really wanted to go the extra mile, some minor body work. Everything else is almost new. It’ll make a great classic for another owner.
I will do my best to disclose what know about this vehicle & its condition. Clear title. It has undergone extensive work. It is in great mechanical order & drives great, but realize it is a classic car. As such, I cannot warranty the vehicle. It is being sold as-is. That said, I’m an open book & want you to get your money’s worth. Ask me questions. Come see the car.

Needs work:
I recently had some issues w/the gauge cluster, and found the voltage regulator to be bad. I replaced that and the fuel gauge, which now works. I think the other 3 gauges don’t work because of that one malfunction, and need to be replaced. The oil pressure gauge starts to rise, but the needle flips back to “0” & then rises several times, so I think the gauge is just old.
The 3-row radiator is brand-new (less than 2,000 miles on it), but has started to show signs of small leaks around the top. They are inexpensive to replace or repair. The car does not overheat or blow out any coolant. I have driven it 45 minutes on a hotter day in Las Vegas (100+ degrees), with zero issues (other than sweating my ass off).
Head lights could stand to be re-aimed.
There are small body imperfections (see pics). Yes, this mustang (like 99% of others) has bondo, I’m sure. Paint is a 7.5/10.
Could use new carpet & some internal door hardware. The doors lock, but they are stiff.
Needs rear window panel cover / carpet.
It is carbureted. This means whenever it gets to you, you’ll most likely want to tune / adjust it. Right now, it starts right up & is timed / tuned for warm temps.
Once it warms up, it tends to idle a little high at a stop & sometimes needs to be kicked down. Not a big deal, but I haven’t had time to make the adjustments.
There is 1 missing circular silver insert in the steering wheel.
Radio doesn’t operate. No speakers in car. I personally prefer the sound of 91 Octane exploding in symphony. :-)
Again, it’s a great classic, and has a really nice paint scheme. It sounds great & is fun to drive. I’ve done extensive work to it! I’m embarrassed to even say how much $$$ & time went into this car. PLEASE - NO LOW-BALLERS. If you don’t have cash in the bank, don’t waste our time. I am not in a rush to sell it. I don’t have time to drive it & would like to buy another project car eventually when my time frees up. I’ll do my best to get back to your questions.
