Description for Ford Galaxie 1967
The Ford Galaxie was a full sized sedan that was built by Ford from 1959 to 1974. The Galaxie 500 and Galaxie 500XL were upmarket trims that bordered on Mercury and Lincoln levels of features and luxury. The newer 1965 models featured redesigned suspension as well as new styling and interior features. A variety of I6 and V8 engines were available as was a variety of body styles. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this excellent 1976 Galaxie 500XL convertible for your consideration. Featuring... an excellent pale yellow exterior over black vinyl this is one sharp car. Owned by the current owner for the last 24 years this has been well cared for and well loved. The car came out of a large private collection in Eau Claire MI. The car features the durable 289cid V8 engine that produces around 200hp and is mated to a smooth shifting automatic transmission. The car runs and drives very well and the transmission is smooth. The car is very well equipped with power brakes power convertible top power steering working heater and front disc brakes. The car comes with the factory hubcaps as well as twin aftermarket spotlights. The paint and chrome trim is excellent and shows very well throughout the entire car. Likewise the black vinyl interiors is also very nice with good seats good carpet and intact and working dashboard. The gauges appear to be all function but the original radio doesn't seem to work. The current owners say that a new convertible top was installed in 2000 and that in 1994 a lot of sheetmetal was replaced with new pieces including the trunk hood and some fenders. All of it was professionally repainted. They also claim the engine was rebuilt at some point but there are not a lot of documents to support this. Overall this is an excellent car in great mechanical and cosmetic condition that is ready to be driven or fully restored.
