Description for Ford F-150 1994
For Sale: 1994 Ford F150 XLT, Extended cab, 4x4, 5.8L (351w)
Ok peoples, I'll tell you everything I know about this truck. It sat in a field for 2 years before I got my hands on it for starts so it was a pretty big project getting it back on the road. I have however been driving it daily for over a year now but I started going to school and the additional gas mileage is killing me so she has to go. In the year I've been driving it I have put about 10,000 miles on it. So, when I list the new parts, none of them have more than 10,000 miles. I have a clean title. Odd note, the title says the VIN is a 1994 Ford F150 XLT 5.8L 4X2. IT IS A 4X4 and looks to be that way from the factory (or someone did an incredibly clean conversion). I double checked and the VIN on the truck is the VIN on the title so I don't know what the deal is.
The Good:
• New Distributor cap
• New distributor rotor
• New spark plugs
• New spark plug wires
• New MSD ignition coil
• New catalytic converter
• New muffler
• New water pump
• New radiator
• New heater core
• New Heater core hoses
• New engine bay vacuum lines
• New radiator hoses
• New AC compressor
• New AC lines
• New AC dryer
• New brakes
• New starter (is from O'reilly though and is slow sometimes after it gets hot)
• New windshield wiper motor
• Tires are in good shape but are not all matching in tread pattern (size is all the same)
• New headlights
• New taillights
• New turn signals
• All new bulbs
• Truck had good compression and runs good
• Transmission shifts pretty smooth (shifts hard sometimes on downshifts)
• Fresh Rough Country 2.5" lift/level kit
• Tires are 33x12.5R15
The Bad (Mechanical issues):
• Has a SUPER slow rear differential seal leak.
• Has a slow transmission pan gasket leak.
• Bubbles coolant up every once and a while and I can't figure out why. Head gaskets showed good on the chemical test and the whole cooling system is new. Problem is INCREDIBLY inconsistent. I went through nearly the entire summer and it didn't do it once then it did it last week.
• I didn't put the AC system in myself and when I got it back it had a small Freon leak out of one of the fittings. Fixed that leak but I haven't drove the truck too much since I got the new AC system installed so I'm not 100% that it is all good now. Seemed to be working fine though.
• Radio doesn't work
• The wiper/turn signal assembly on the steering column is finicky. The turn switch has to be held down sometimes and the wiper switch has to be jiggled sometimes for the intermittent function to work.
• Rear end has some slop and you can feel it when you shift from drive to reverse and back.
• Driver door lock doesn't work because of wiring and I do not have door keys. Truck cannot be locked.
The Ugly (Cosmetic issues):
• The truck was three or four colors when I got it and I wanted a work truck so it got painted in white bed liner for the body with the rest in black bed liner. I never painted anything in bed liner though so the truck has a few low spots and I ran out of black before I got the rear bumper done. The bed liner on the front grill is also starting to chip.
• The interior is mostly complete but ROUGH. It could use a restoration or replacement, especially the driver seat which has a larger hole in the foam and fabric (see pictures).
• The truck has a massive dent in the driver rear cab panel and the metal flexes if you push on it too hard.
• The passenger rear bed was banged up pretty bad and you can see it even through the bed liner paint.
• Needs new window tint
I think that is everything I can think of. The truck is being sold locally so I do reserve the right to end this auction should it be sold elsewhere. If you have any questions or would like additional photos or videos please let me know. My name is Rusty. Thank you and take care.
