Description for Ford Thunderbird 1956
This is a professionally built resto mod started by a friend who suddenly became ill and couldn't finish it. The chassis, drive line, instrumentation console and seats are from a mid to late 90's Corvette and Camaro Z28 low mileage wrecks. Unfortunately he is unable to tell me the particulars of the car. I had a couple guys who know Corvettes better than I do tell me they are pretty confident the chassis is Corvette. I know he had at least 4 Corvette and Z28 wrecks all with under 10K miles on them. The odometer on the cluster in this car reads only 1,537 miles on it. I can't guarantee how many of the components were from that wreck, but everything is in excellent condition. The car starts, runs, drives and stops nicely. The head lights work and all the wiring is there. The motor is a LT1 350 automatic. This is one of three resto mod cars he was building at the time. The hard part has been done on the car. The car needs buttoning up, some metal patches and the cosmetics finished. Some of the body mounts are done and some need to be. The exhaust is fitted but needs to be bracketed. It has a half dozen spots that need metal patching. The toe pans need to be finished. The left fender is rough but it comes with another one. It also comes with two extra right hand fenders. There is also a full front clip with a new grill which I'm told he paid almost 2K for. There are boxes of NOS and repop chrome emblems, handles, etc to finish the car. There is front and rear 56 bumpers, another grille and 2 more matching Corvette wheels. There is no top included, I saw a couple on eBay reasonable. This would be a huge fun car to drive and resto mods are demanding big money. I would think that this car finished properly could fetch $50-70K. It's positively one of a kind. I do not have a current registration, but I will give you the necessary New York documents to register/title the car. Local pickup only. I may be able to assist in shipping.
