Description for Ford LTD 1975

You are bidding on a 1975 Ford LTD Brougham Coupe. It is a one owner Nevada car. Vehicle acquired from family trust after owner passed. Speaking with the son, he told me that his parents brought him home in this car when he was born 40 yrs ago! He learned to drive in this car. He assures me that the miles are accurate. These big rear wheel drive V8 "Personal Luxury Coupes" where ubiquitous during the 60's and 70's. No one thought twice about driving a big 2 Door like this back then. But what a pleasure they are cruising down the highway at 75....nothing like it today!!
Engine:
Complete tune up recently done.
New plugs.
New wires.
New AC Compressor.
New Battery.
New Alternator.
New fuel pump.
New fuel filter.
New valve cover gaskets.
AC converted to R134.
351cu. Cleveland/Windsor V8 was a bulletproof motor that Ford used for years in many models.
Carburetor, no fuel injection, so 2 pumps of the gas and it starts right up. Within a minute settles into a nice smooth idle. No missing or detonation. Pulls effortlessly through the gears. Lots of low end torque. No overheating issues.
Transmission:
3 speed transmission was common at the time. Interesting how in this day and age of 8 or 10 speed transmissions, this car doesn't feel like it needs more than 3 speeds. No hard shifting up or down. No "clunk" when engaging "Reverse","Park" or "Drive". According to son, transmission was replaced 5000 miles ago. Notice the newer appearance of transmission in photos.
Paint/Body:
Rear quarter appears to have been painted at some point. Paint appears to be original everywhere else. White finish still has a nice shine. Won't call it a "Barn Find", but it did spend it's whole life in owner's garage. Vinyl top still has a nice shine. No tears or sun rot.*Paint on plastic bumper cover behind front bumper is peeling. Moulding on passenger door has been re attached.
Interior:
Interior is in immaculate condition. No cracks in dash pad or any of the vinyl. (Dash cover included) No rips in the upholstery. Padding still feels like it never suffered a lot of use. Carpets original and in good shape as is the headliner.
Electrical:
EVERYTHING WORKS!! Power Driver seat. Power Windows. Cruise Control. All lights exterior and interior work perfectly. Air Conditioner blows ICE COLD!!
Tires/Brakes:
Brand new tire on driver front side from Discount Tire. All other tires at 70% tread left. Brakes have 70% wear left. No "Brake Shake" from worn rotors. Vehicle pulls and stops in a straight line with NO drama! **I realized after I took photos that incorrect Hub Cap is on front driver wheel. Correct Hub Cap is in trunk. Steering wheel a bit off center, but vehicle drives straight and true. I did not see need for alignment.
