Description for Ford LTD 1970
Restored in all the right places, and refreshing original everywhere else, this 1970 Ford LTD hardtop sedan is a cool cruiser for a terrific price.
LTD meant top-of-the-line in 1970, and this one sure looks the part. Retractable headlights, a wave of brightwork following the body line until it meets the base of the roof, and plenty of ornamentation on the tail panel. And the reason why you can recognize this premium-level appearance so well today is because this in has been given all the right care over nearly a half-century. Even the wheel covers are factory correct. But this one has a brighter allure than you'd expect from just some tucked-away classic. That's because it received a recent respray applied at the Ford dealership. They used the iconic Wimbledon White, and to that they added premium burgundy on the roof and hood for a truly outstanding two-tone.
And we also love when a secondary color is a preview of the interior. And when you open the door, the flood of burgundy continues. Like the rest of the car, the interior is nicely preserved, and the materials that were worn out like the dash pad and headliner were recently replaced. As a true full-sized sedan, this LTD will seat six people with ease. The wood paneling has been preserved on the doors and dash to the level that allows this LTD to retain its luxury image. Plus, this sedan retains provisions for some nice factory features like the AM radio and air conditioning. Ford's two-tier instrument panel puts all the gauges up high and the secondary controls down low, but the effect is very clean and driver-oriented. So it makes for a great environment when you've got family and friends along for the ride or even if you're just cruising solo.
Ford's legendary 351 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carburetor provides plenty of power for the sedan. The air topper and valve covers are now crisply detailed in Wimbledon White to match the exterior. But beyond that it appears quite stock, which means effortless torque at any speed and the kind of dignified power that defined luxury in the '70s. It floats down the road like a good 70s machine should. Plus, with a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes, Ford's top tier sedan is a breeze to drive.
A striking hardtop version of a car you rarely see anymore. Who knew classic car distinction could be so affordable? Don't miss out, call today!
