Description for Ford Mustang 1967
This Mustangis dry sanded to bare steel. Only the underside of the car has its original paint. Even the inside of the roof and trunk were sanded to bare steel. The Mustang is painted with a thinner based 2K paint, color and ground. The paint is 9 years old and is very fine but will need an overspray to meet a show condition. The paint has never been rubbed or polished. Every hidden space is waxed, there is no rust protection on this Mustang.Originally this car was a California black plate car, which had no rust protection. During the restoration every part which was still in fine condition was left untouched. The original wiringloom is still in place. Everything works with exception of the AC. The AC compressor produces a noise, before this the AC works perfectly. This Mustang had a high pricetag, because of all the rare options. In the Kevin Martin rapport it says that this Mustang is one of two built. The Mustang has driven 6000 miles efter the restoration, 90450 miles on the odometer. (which is the correct mileage, when you look at all the bills you can clearly see that it's correct)A Swedish journalist wrote about the car in a very populair magazine. (Bilsport Classic april 2011). The journalist had never seen such a rare Mustang ever. Even the Swedish Mustang club wrote an article about this special Mustang. From 1970 every bill of every reparation is with the car, about 400 photo's were taken during the restoration. The restoration took about 5000 hours, 7 years, because the dry sanding and restoration to original specs. The restoration is 99% done. I have owned this Mustang from 2003. Changes from original: - Exhaust system - Speakers under the seats, not noticible. - Modern radio in the centerconsole, not noticible - Rear valance, GT - Radiator hose clamps - Wiringloom on the motor - Electronic ignition, not noticible - Battery - A hidden anti theft system - The motor has 0,3 overbore - No bumperbrakets on the rear bumper, but they will come with the car. - Right door mirror - Bumper front and rear are not original parts - Springleaf rear has an extra leaf. The car has some minor dents on the original trim around the windows, on the rocker panels and the roof rail trim. The transmission has a little oil leak on the cork seal. The airfilter housing is missing the heat induct. This Mustang had before the restoration a little rust on the drivers floorpan, rear window corner right and the battery tray. All this is proffesional replaced. The cowl is original and untouched because it is in a very fine condition, waxed on the inside. The previous owner mounted some screws in the inside doorpanels, on the stainless steel trims. This Mustang is a one of a kind, it drives like new, no rattles at all. Road performance is just like a modern car. It has had maintenance on a high level, every year new oil and filter is one of the parts. There is no rust on the car. I am looking for a buyer who knows how an original Mustang should look like. I am a examined concours judge for the years 1967/68.
