For your consideration is a timecapsule 1936 V8 Ford Phaeton in pristine as-close-to-new condition as one could ask of an 81-year-old vehicle.
ThisFord was owned for many years by a prominent local collector. It was sold to another enthusiast who recently spent well over 20,000 dollars on aexquisite new top and a lustrous precision matched paint job to the original paint which remains on the firewall. The interior is original from 1936, including the originaltexture printed leather seats, crisp original faux grain painted dash with plastic knobs and chrome dial escutcheons, rubber running boards and front floor mat, and rear mohair carpeting. Even the rubberbumper mountsurrounds and hood corner protectors are original. The supple leatherseats have been professionally dressed for preservation with a special antique leather ointment free from animal products. There are only acouple minor breaks and some lightcreasing in the leather, otherwise it is near new.All original chrome has been cleaned. The vehicle retains it's original side curtains and instruction manual, equippedwith a period-correct reprinted manual envelope. Photos of these available upon request.
Interior includes original accessory wind wings withperiod Ford safety glass, scarcewindshield wiper speed control, and working Ford rear-view clock mirror. The original accessory Ford radio only buzzes at the moment.
The 221 engine has been dressed in period correct Ford Green engine paint. It has been serviced by our Antique Ford specialist, Richard O. Lindner, a collector of over 50 years and owner of Fordsranging from 1903-1959. Theundercarriage and frame are about as clean as you would expect for a barely-used mid-1930's Ford, meaning rust is pretty muchnonexistent. I am limited by the amount of photos I can upload but can send photos of the undercarriage if desired.
The car has been driven briefly in recent years so the paint, while near flawless, does have some minor and expected hints of having experienced the open road.
