Description for Ford Ford slantback custom van 1937
Hi guys, welcome to my listing for my custom, all steel 37 ford slantback streetrod..what can I say about it.. I've lost count of the hundreds of hours and thousands of pounds/dollars ive poured into this awesome looking hotrod over the last few years! The car was brought over to the UK in the early 90's and built to the hilt by a sho, and made front cover of street machine magazine. The frame is fully boxed, back halfed with coilovers all round, lincoln discs and mustang 2 chrome front end. It originally looked very standard apart from from the pro street rear en, but ran a blown big block at 700 hp.. the firewall is recessed if you want another bbc under the hood. The BBC motor is long gone and now runs a sweet stroked 35, very neatly seated with minimal wiring on show. As pictured on my Instagram page.I bought the 37 with a plan, to make it a nasty looking streetrod, so work began...A big step to alter a really nice condition hotrod. But I didn't want to start with a pile and have a serious amount of work..This all steel 37 has had a 2 1/4 " roof chop and converted to a van . Because I love vans!I've had the hood louvered and some custom metal work made into the trunk. All done professionally.Onto the paint..I always wanted the car black and am lucky enough to know a guy who's got to be one of the best bodyshops in the UK.. he takes paintwork to another level, and my deep angle black paint job shows this. It's so good I don't drive it...To get the body laser straight and paint cost me around 15000 dollars... this is not a quick back yard paint job. It's flawless . Painted the Charlie Hutton way.
I have the original billet specialities that came on it. But I wanted something different. So in the back are 22" alcoas, custom billet adaptors truck caps and nut cones running on brand new dunlop tyres . The front are 8 stud truck rims with billet nuts. I think it looks awesome and has cost a small fortune to get the hole set up just right.I built the car as you see it in2014 2015,And it's been under a pop up carport in my workshop ever since because I still haven't fitted an interior.. the original was not to my taste and because of the work we done it was fully removed. I do have a bench seat made for the car from a 40 Buick but it's uncovered. A nice interior will make this hotrod perfect. I have however wood labelled most of it out.All in all this is a totally custom UK built streetrod to a very high standard that needs finishing. It's been no where since its build other than around my workshop. The paint is flawless. The look is perfect. The windshield cranks out and the windows are electric. Underneath is totally solid and I doubt has been out in the wet since built in the 90's.I'd love to keep it. I wish I had time to work in it but 1 day off a week doesn't give me time and I just can't see my self finishing it... someone with fresh eyes will love and finish this all steel rod.I have more pictures on my Instagram #jonnychopshopVery reluctant sale.. and alot of money sent ..Thought I'd try it for sale back in the states where it might be appreciated more.Never been for sale or hardly seen.Scallops in 1st pic are only stickers and have been removedPlease e mail or call if you'd like to chat about it.. I could px it for something interested.. I can help with shipping, it's easy and I've bought a few things stateside and had shipped myself.07766753575RegardsJohn
