Description for Ford Other Pickups 1940

Up for auction is a 1940 Ford pickup. Built in the rat/hot rod style. You be the judge. I'm selling this truck for the owner/builder. a 25+ yr. certified mechanic who built this truck as his personal toy. He has no time to drive it anymore as his auto repair business is growing. It has been built @ 5 yrs. and only has @ 6000 miles on it. All of the fabrication and welding is very nice and the truck is dead nuts reliable. It runs no higher than 190 degrees in traffic on a summer day here in the high desert. It stops and steers great. I've personally driven the truck many times and it's fast. fun and reliable. Now for the specifics of the truck:Body: 1940 Ford cab and doors. v-butted windshield. there are no side windows. regulators wipers or turn signals. Definitely a fair weather cruiser. There was little to no rust in the cab. what was there has been fixed. it has a hand fabricated floor pan and trans tunnel. It's painted Rustoleum flat black with hand painted pinstripes. The bed is hand-fabbed from new metal and is very straight. there is no bed floor as to help with cooling. (rear mounted radiator)Interior: Blue cloth rear mini-van seat. Sunpro tach and gauges. aluminum door panels and dash insert. under dash CD player. Speedway Motors red steering wheel with quick release. Stock postal Jeep column. Peach can cup holder. military transport shifter mated to a B&M Z-gate shifter. Chassis: 1975 DJ5 AMC factory boxed postal Jeep frame. the Jeep steering box is flipped to the left side and is connected to a 1940 Ford front axle and radius rods on a Speedway Motors spring. It uses Ford F1 spindles and a Speedway Motors disc brake kit. The front wheels are Rocket 10 spoke 15x4 1/2" wheels with Nexen 165 80 15 tires. The rear suspension consists of a 1970 Nova 10-bolt axle. It has been completely rebuilt with an Auburn posi. Yukon 3:55 gears. Moser axles. All seals. bearings. brakes. hardware and even drums were replaced with new items. It has Moroso extended studs. The wheels are vintage 15x8" slot mags with 265 70 15 Definity Dakota tires. It's attached to the frame with leaf springs and tubular traction arms. The drive shaft is custom built new. Engine: 1973 Chevy Impala 454 engine. stock rebuild with large oval port heads. Block casting #3999289. Head casting# 353049. Offenhauser 360 degree intake. 750 Holley vac. secondary carb. Holley red fuel pump. Speedway Motors 10 gallon poly gas tank. nbsp;MSD distributor and wires. modified Speedway Motors Headers (baffles in the head pipes) no mufflers. Summit high flow aluminum water pump. rear mounted radiator with dual electric fans that can be operated separately manually or thermally. Again. the engine is a stock rebuild for reliability. the vehicle weighs @2500 pounds wet so it doesn't take much to get this truck really moving! Transmission: Chevy turbo 350 automatic with blue plate special rebuild kit. shift kit and Hughes 2500 stall speed convertor. It's shifted with a B&M Z-gate shifter. It does have a driveshaft loop. It's won numerous plaques and awards in the past few years. I can take more pics if needed. I reserve the right to end the auction as it is for sale locally. The truck is located in Albuquerque. NM and has a clear title. It is registered as a 1975 DJ5 Jeep. Any questions don't hesitate to e-mail or call Paul (505) 263-3077 This is a no reserve auction! Good luck and happy bidding!
