Description for Ford Mustang 1987

Very nice 1987 Ford Mustang GT coach built convertible by ASC/McLaren in cooperation with Ford. 5.0 HO Fuel Injected 302 ci V8, four-speed overdrive automatic transmission with 63K original miles. Metallic Blue paint, Blue top and two tone leather interior. Limited Production Car, #473 of 479 in 1987, and 1 of 28 built in this color combination.
Originally a mid West car, there is no rust present on the car and it has been stored indoors year round, third owner of eight years. The two most noticeable modifications on the exterior by ASC McLaren are the 15in Honeycomb Cast Aluminum rims by Motorsport Wheel Company and the windshield being tilted back an additional twenty degrees. Other exterior features by McLaren include a front and rear bumper cover package, reinforced rocker panels with covers, taillight covers and a rear spoiler. Interior converted to a true two-seater with storage compartments replacing the back seats, perforated leather seats, ASC McLaren door panels, and extended center console. ASC convertible top and frame to meet the raked windshield, including custom made front windows. In 1987 the ASC McLaren Package pushed the MSRP well over 20k.
This unmolested Mustang presents extremely well and runs great. The interior is in great condition, with little to no wear visible. Slight fading on the door sill kick plates, and the weatherstrip has been worn by shoes brushing it getting in/out. The original convertible top is in great shape and shows no signs of deterioration inside or fade on the outside. Minor discoloration where the rear bow sits, and one hole smaller than the size of a shirt button on right edge from rubbing while down. Exterior paint shines bright with only a handful of minor imperfections, believed to be one repaint since new. One light brush mark on the right rear corner of the rear bumper cover smaller than a golf ball, not visible in photos. One light scratch on the drivers door and one above the gas door, neither deep, otherwise, no dings or dents. The car is not perfect, but is very, very nice for 30 years old. Engine starts right up, idles smooth and has no leaks or known issues. Transmission shifts as it is supposed to. Tires are Yokohama 85% tread, they do get lumpy after sitting. Factory GT suspension and brakes, front discs rear drums. All electrics function except the power antenna mast, radio comes in with minimal static. Optional air conditioning is getting weak.
