Description for Ford Victoria hardtop 1951
Purchased by me about two years ago from the second owner who restored it to its current configuration. It was bought from the estate of the first owners wife. The car was driven by her until 1953 and then garaged for 49 years! Upon her death it was sold at her estate auction in 2004. The new owner had it repainted, reupholstered, all chrome replated ( including the bumpers) at a cost of $3800. He added Edelbrock finned aluminum heads, Edelbrock four barrel intake with 390 cfm Holley carb, Mallory distributor, headers with dual exhaust and lowered front and back two inches for that street Rod/ mild custom look. I have added a set of four 57 Dodge Lancer 15 inch wheel covers. It has 5 new wide whitewall tires to complete the look. The car had no evidence of any rust, scrapes or dents when it was repainted and the body is arrow straight with proper body gaps. All glass is the original Ford script glass and no cracks. Side windows roll up and down properly. All lights, directionals, horn guages etc. work as they should. Only the original 6 volt AM Deluxe radio is non operative. The engine runs smoothly and quietly without overheating and starts easily every time, even with the 6 volt system. It has a large aluminum radiator and a five bladed mechanical fantaken from a Ford truck. The Fordomatic three speed transmission shifts firmly as it should. The car will come with an extensive collection of manuals, parts catalog, new spare parts if needed eventually and a loose leaf binder with receipts for all items added to this wonderful vintage car, including the color readings for the two tone paint, which is very close to the original colors. Metallic green vinyl "tuck and roll" and new carpet complete the interior. Inspection can be made any time with an appointment prior to bidding.
