Description for Ford Mustang 1993
Love this car, hate to sell it but life is what it is. I'm the second private owner and I have had her for the better part of 20 years. Bought her to keep forever and treated her accordingly. She was lady owned and all stock but when I got her the modifications for a really fun street car and occasional track rat started. There are records for everything including each tank of fuel and it's mileage! A Bart Works / HPM double A-arm front suspension was added along with 2000 "R" Brembo brakes up front and genuine "R" rims. (Remember when those center caps were always stolen?) The spring rate and Koni yellows are set for an aluminum headed 351 based stroker. (550x550 with an independent rear and a 6spd was the goal.) That last bit never happened but she does have a C&L intake, Motorsport stainless shorties, Flowmaster exhaust and a Pro 5.0 shifter amongst other things. The chassis has a serious brace system set up with extensive custom framerails and Kenny Brown parts. Interior and exterior is largely clean and straight. The one major interior flaw is the small tear in the side of the passenger seat and it is pictured. All original parts and records go along with her. There are numerous spares and original take offs as well and there is also the vast majority of a collection of every major Mustang magazine (new body) since the late 80's that might go as well. The 20 year old radio might be replaced by the original that came in the car. Yep, I was fooling with all of this when it started and this was my retirement gift to me.She has seen very limited driving for the last 15 years with about a thousand miles in the last decade. I would strongly recommend a complete fluid and filter change along with a new battery before any serious driving. The tires are my recent preference of high end Firestone and are like new. (These tires were installed four years ago and have less than 500 miles on them.) She is in good shape mechanically with everything tight and as it should be. How many Fox doors close smoothly with a satisfying "thunk"? I did notice two things worth a mention today. The sunroof gasket is starting to dry-rot but that is an easy fix. Also, the airbag light was blinking. This could be battery related or it could be corrosion on the clock ring from lack of use. It didn't bother me either way but I wanted to mention it. I purposefully have pictures of her clean and as she currently sits. Dang those wood bore bees! A good day of washing, clay bar and wax should be on the agenda as well.
Someone will be lucky indeed to drive this car. Though the suspension isn't properly sorted it's amazing. It only takes a mile to realize how very different it is from the normal Fox steering and handling. Another mile has you wondering why more people didn't do this to their cars. Curves suddenly cause evil grins and oversteer can be redefined quickly if you aren't careful. It certainly doesn't lack for turn-in or bite!
