Description for Ford Mustang 1968

1 of 7 SAAC Documented Restored Shelby GT500KR Convertible 428 Cobra Jet V8 C6 /// Professionally restored by Island Lake, Illinois' Custom Classics, this incredible Shelby mixes a roster of NOS components with world class exclusivity. Originally delivered to Dallas, Texas, this Ford carries special-order WT6066 yellow paint, factory air, a C6 automatic transmission and a tilt steering column. The car is 1 of only 20 Shelby convertibles painted WT6066 yellow and, of those, 1 of only 7 equipped with... air conditioning. And today, it fits together better than any Mustang ever built by the factory! Under the hood 428 cubic inches of date-correct Cobra Jet looks right at home. Behind that legendary mill, a correct C6 3-speed spins a familiar Ford 9-inch that's finished with 3.00 gears. That drivetrain pushes a rebuil factory suspension that's augmented by correct power steering and correct power front disc and rear drum brakes. An exact reproduction exhaust system has been installed, complete with correct tips. And power meets the pavement through E70-15 Goodyear Speedways, which are wrapped around appropriate Shelby 10-spokes. Since the car's NOS interior was in great shape, Custom Classics decided to leave it as-is. The seats are deep and comfortable, exhibiting none of the rot common in sunbaked convertibles. Opposite those thrones, a great looking dash frames a correct 140 MPH speedometer and 8,000 RPM tachometer above a correct Philco radio. Beneath that wood-trimmed dash, a wood-trimmed console anchors a slick Shelby shifter between a correct, cobra-branded armrest and small Stewart Warner accessory gauges. And the car's Rim Blow Steering Wheel is just too nice not to be a restored piece. Fully documented and fully-sorted, this incredible Mustang drives and sounds every bit as good as it looks!
