Description for Ford Mustang 1965
Alabama Barn Find 65 Mustang FastbackRare and mostly complete 1965 Ford Mustang 2 + 2 fastback. C code. 4 speed. Ivy Green metallic. black interior. New 1 pc Floor and new trunk INSTALLED for super solid car. I was in a near fatal. very costly car accident on New Years day with an un-insured driver that has cost me thousands and I am forced to sell my fastback. Please scroll down and see the photobucket slide show link for all pics of the work I have done from day 1. All interior parts included except dash pad. headliner and carpet. rear fold down seat in good shape as well all all rear panels. Front seats are rough condition but can be recovered/restored. Needs carpet. headliner. door cards and dash pad. All panels and hardware. trap door. All glass good except passenger door (missing). engine and driveline complete (1968 302 w/ c4 trans). Drive shaft not installed. Brakes need to be finished. I am Working on the car every day. Don't mess around with a rusted piece of junk. The other missing parts on this car are rear bumper. rear valance pan. radiator. starter. trans cooling lines and a few other small items. Alabama Barn find. Engine and C4 auto trans from 68. Car still retains original brake/clutch pedal assy. But NOT the original manual trans. This car has been off the road since the mid 90's. When we rescued the car the floors and trunk were rusty but most of the rest very solid. We opted to install a 1 pc floor pan (best way to go) and we did the trunk / drop offs and lower rear quarters. All floor work was done in the same manor the factory did back in 65 spot welded and seam sealed. This car is now 90% rust free and structurally solid. Frame rails and torque box's all rust free. Lower quarter patch panels butt welded in place. Outer wheel house lower repair panels butt welded. The hard work is done. There will still need to be body work and metal finishing and interior work to be restored but. my plan was to add a little more of a matching patina and do the interior and drive as is. Car had GT350 steel side scoops welded in when I got it and they look awesome. If you have never done this type of work it is very labor intensive. If you have done this than you know what a great value this is to have been already completed. Trunk lid is damaged around the key hole so I would replace the lid ( reproduction $150 ). No keys. nbsp;Battery right front apron needs replace or repair. The right front fender and door's have been replaced at some point and have minor rust. No door tag on the car. You can order a reproduction data plate for the door as original is not with car. I have been able to decode most of the car through all the work performed. For sure Ivy Green. For sure C code 4 speed or 3 speed. List of new parts installed over $3500 spent on parts alone in the past 3 months. 1 pc Floor pan $600Seat structure/braces $100New trunk and all trunk braces. drop offs. $300New gas tank. New factory 1 pc fuel line and new sending unit $200Front disc brake conversion. New dual master and new lines. proportioning valve. Rear drums rebuilt/replaced. $7004 new American Racing Torque Thrust II 15" wheels and Copper tires/lug nuts $1500Lokar Shifter (for automatic) not installed $200Over 125 man hours spent on metal work and upgrades. Engine is a 302 from 1968 and rotates by hand no carb. Trans is a C4 auto from the same era. I have not started engine or tested trans. I would assume they need work. I was going to put in a rebuilt 80's 5. 0 and 5 speed trans. Most of the hard work is done. You can be driving this car in after few weekends of work. Great father son project. Great restoration / Restomod. GREAT CAR PERIOD! Here is your chance to get one with all the hard stuff out of the way. Sold with bill of sale and temp registration. I just registered the car with IL DMV. Just waiting for IL title to come back. Should be 2 to 3 weeks and I will send/transfer to you. (I doubt you will be driving it by then :) Payment in full due in 3 days of auction close. No tire kickers or dreamers please.
