Description for Ford Mustang 1967
The great thing about vintage Mustangs is that you can seamlessly blend old and new without losing the character of the original. This 1967 Ford Mustang coupe, for example, has a '60s cool look with a sweet-running injected 5.0 under the hood, which combines with a 5-speed manual transmission to create a thoroughly updated driving experience. High-gloss black never fails to wow crowds wherever it shows up, and even on this coupe it looks both sophisticated and... sporting. Of course, that's surely helped by the almost ideal stance and tinted windows. Finish quality is extremely good, with the sheetmetal in fine condition before work even began and quite a bit of time spent on getting it just right before the paint went on. The deep shine of the urethane paint is easy to maintain and delivers an incredible sparkle in the sun. This is a driver, make no mistake, but it wears the black paint with pride. All the chrome and stainless is in very good condition and we especially like the addition of the late-model 5.0 badges on the front fenders. It also features a Bullitt-style grille without the running pony emblem, and that alone makes this car look imposing in the rear-view mirror. The new interior is quite well done, and shows you where a good chunk of cash was spent. Bucket seats with horizontal pleats look right for 1967, there are new carpets on the floors, and the neatly tailored door panels look like new. The instrument panel is faced with what Ford called "camera case" trim and the gauges are in good shape and use that classic font that Ford worked so hard to replicate in the late-model Mustangs. There is no center console, but that cool Hurst shifter with the cue ball knob shows five forward gears instead of four, and the way it sits makes you think that Ford intended it that way. There's also a modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit to supply some extra entertainment. The back seat looks completely unused and brand new and the trunk is correctly outfitted with a proper plaid mat. The torquey fuel injected 5.0 comes from a late-model Mustang and since it's really a 302, it drops right into the 1967 engine bay like it was born there. Thanks to factory electronic controls, it starts, idles, and runs beautifully, with that fat torque curve that made the 5.0 a legend. Unlike so many other 5.0s, this one remains pretty stock, so it's bulletproof reliable and if you want more power, well, it's only a phone call away. An upgraded alternator handles the power chores and there's an aluminum radiator up front. Long-tube headers feed a nice-sounding dual exhaust system that has that traditional 5.0 Mustang sound, something people won't expect coming from this vintage coupe. The T5 5-speed manual transmission means it's an effortless highway cruiser that actually pulls down reasonably decent fuel economy. It's quite clean underneath and the factory suspension and brakes don't seem to have any problem managing the extra power that the 5.0 brings to the party. Handsome Torque Thrust wheels are the perfect '60s addition and carry staggered 17-inch front and 20-inch rear performance radials. This is resto-mod done right, keeping all that was great about the original and adding reliability and ease of use. Fast, comfortable, and competent, it's exactly the way you'd always hoped your Mustang would be. Call today!
