Description for Ford F-350 1993
Big jobs need big trucks, and it was right about the time that this 1993 Ford F350 XLT extended cab dually was built that these trucks really started to take off. With big block power for effortless towing, an 8-foot bed that'll carry anything, and a gorgeous interior that's almost like new, this big Ford is either an insanely affordable high-capacity tow vehicle or a future classic waiting to be discovered. The big, squared-off style of the... '90s F-series works particularly well in dually form. Crisply rendered and very butch, this rig looks like it could pull an ocean liner out of the water. That's factory black paint, and it's extremely well maintained for being 25 years old (yes, 25); you could give it a proper buff and really bring it up a notch or two and get people talking about what an amazing truck you found. The big chrome grille, oversized mirrors, cab lights, and, of course, the big rear fenders all add to the big rig feel, although you'll ultimately discover that this pickup is pretty darned civilized. The bed has been used but not abused and there's a fifth-wheel hookup there, because that's what duallies do best. It has lived its entire life with just three owners, all of whom took great care of the truck and lived down south, so there are no critical structural issues to worry about underneath. Get in and put it to work! Gray cloth buckets flank a wide central console to make long-distance cruising a pleasure. The upholstery is in shockingly good condition and the big cab feels downright spacious, even with the mini bench in back. Original carpets are protected by a heavy-duty rubber mat, so no worries about getting in with your boots on, and for a hauler like this, you're going to want options: cold A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a tilt steering column. Even the original AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit is still in the dash. Big, bright gauges offer a comprehensive view of the engine's condition and with 113,959 original miles, you guys familiar with these trucks understand that this one is only just getting broken in. A sliding rear window is a nice feature, even though it's waaaay back there, and we have to say that climbing in this truck feels like coming home; who didn't have an F-Series back in the '90s? Ford's 460 cubic inch V8 was built for jobs like this. With modern EFI on top, it's a torque factory and shrugs off the biggest loads you can put behind it. The big low-RPM engine isn't stressed, so it will run practically forever and despite a number of modifications available for these trucks, this one remains bone stock, from the twin intake snorkels to the original catalytic converter (although there is a Flowmaster muffler back there just for effect). It's tidy but not detailed under the hood, but being pretty isn't this truck's job; it works for a living. Ford's tough 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission offers good gearing to make the most of the 460's torque curve and a tall overdrive that turns highway hauls into relaxing road trips. Southern living is most visible underneath, where it's extremely clean and well-preserved, from the Twin-I-Beam front suspension to the gigantic rear end, which has 4.11 gears inside. The aforementioned Flowmaster sounds great blowing through twin tailpipes and it sits on brand new Eagle alloy wheels and 235/85/16 Firestone truck radials. If you've priced duallies lately, you know this one is a fraction of the cost of just about anything else. Still ready to work, still handsome, and still comfortable, it represents a great deal of practicality for not a lot of cash. Call today!
