Description for Ford Model A 1930
1930 Model A Roadster Pre war Hot Rod project. We started with a completely rebuilt chassis with a rebuilt stock Model A 4 cylinder and transmission. This car was built to be a basic Prewar Hot Rod that a kid would have stripped down to go to the dry lakes in the late 30's early 40's. The Body is a new reproduction Steel roadster body from Brookville. This is the stock style reproduction with the rumble seat and all the wood. The car has original Gas Tank. Hood. and commercial shell that has been sandblasted and Epoxy Primed. The Wheels are 1935-36 Ford 16" wires that were sandblasted and epoxy primed and New COKER Firestone Deluxe Champion 6. 00-16's in front and 7. 00-16's in the rear. The stock engine was rebuilt years ago by the previous owner and he lost interest in the project and let the frame sit inside his shop since 1985. We built a Stainless steel Header and Downdraft intake using Flanges from Bill Carlson at WAC customs in CT. The engine is running and sounds very tight. We set it up with a Ford 94 that was rebuilt some time ago and wouldn't hurt to be gone thru as it's been sitting. Other than the header and intake the engine is bone stock. The engine starts right up but could use some tuning. The car needs to be wired. tuned. and brakes adjusted. We installed 4 new Offy friction shocks with all new Dogbones and rubber. The car lot drives as is and the coil is wired so it can be easily loaded on a trailer. The next step on this car is to pull the body back off and paint it what ever color you would like. There is no windshield. windshield stanchions. or interior. Everything you see in the pictures is what you get and this could be a super easy project to have on the road this spring or get ready for The RACE OF GENTLEMEN this October. On Feb-12-15 at 07:06:40 PST. seller added the following information:I have had some people inquire about the Title on this project. The car has a current TN title (Nov 2014) and it's titled as a 1930 Ford 2D. This is the title I got with the chassis and the engine number is different as the previous owner rebuilt a different engine. I could not see the vin stamped in the frame as it's very common for the number to be not visible due to age.
