First of all. thank you for viewing my auction. This car has an amazing history from day one. Original Owner ( a UCLA college professor)  traded his 64 1/2 Mustang Coupe for this car. He special ordered it from Yucca Valley Ford with the options he wanted. Very rare combination with the A code 289 4V V8 engine. C-4 automatic transmission. Interior Decor Group (otherwise known as "Pony Interior"). power steering. air conditioning. center console. GT package. AM 8 Track stereo (not installed but comes with the car as well as other original parts shown). vinyl top. deluxe push button seat belts. remote driver's side mirror. Day/Night rear view mirror. and 2 speed wipers. Car has NEVER been out of CA!!! It was built in CA. delivered in CA. and stayed in CA its whole life. Still wearing the original black and yellow. issued to this car. CA plates!! It was his nice day car ( he had a few other cars too) and always garaged. Only parts that needed replacement since new have been replaced. I would consider this an un-restored. only done what's needed survivor. 1 repaint since new. Original hubcaps. wheels. valve covers. air cleaner. smog equipment. AM 8 track. and radio panel bezel all come with the car. All original date code correct body panels. all original chrome. trim. suspension ( even upper and lower control arms have tight original ball joints with original rivets). and even the original Ford exhaust system with mufflers!!! When is the last time you saw that?!!! Nothing leaks. seaps. rattles. or requires attention. Everything works like it should including all lights. signals. gauges. etc. All windows glide up and down smoothly and all lock cylinders operate smoothly too. It starts right up. first time. and drives great. It drives straight down the road with no issues. even at 85 MPH on the freeway. No rust bubbles. or Chinese parts anywhere on this car. Super Snake style stripes can be easily buffed off if not to your liking.   I am both a PS and TRS on ebay. which less than 1% of seller are. and have a 100% positive feedback score. so have no worries. Please take the time to allow the 225+ detailed photos to load (scroll down and over to the right). it IS WELL WORTH the wait. and PLEASE read the entire description before asking questions (I know it is long. but I wanted to cover all bases). No reproduction import junk on this car.  All original stainless trim.  Car still has all the original Carlite glass. except the windshield which still has a 1983 UCLA parking pass. No pits or chips and has original Carlite etchings and date codes.  New American made weatherstrips installed through out the entire car. This also is an original GT A code car which is also rare. Original fog light switch still in place on the dash. proper duel exhaust floor pan plates under rear seats. and holes in the radiator support for the fog light wires still. It is also very hard to find a car such as this with all its original body panels and floor pans/aprons. Most original GT cars were beat up and rusted away long ago. Most you find for sale have import replacement junk all over them! I posted the door tag if you choose to decode. just Google "1966 Mustang Data Plate Decoder" if you don't already know the codes. This listing is long enough as it is. I don't need to add another paragraph explaining what many already know. I feel like I am writing a novel already!!     I am very aware of all the junk out there. I look at them and appraise them all the time for people. This car is not one of them. It is solid. reliable. starts the first time and every time. does not overheat. stumble. rattle. or drive like an old car. All areas have been addressed to where you can drive it every day if you so choose to. It does not cut out. buck. run hot. hard to slow down. hard to steer. or have issues you would expect from most old vehicles. I can't stand driving most of them. and realistically. most people do not either. This car drives much like a much newer car and is fun to drive. where you look forward to driving again. not dreading it. Steering too is nimble and precise with the original power steering unit rebuilt and not all over the road like these cars were new. It does not wander or track all over the road even at 85 MPH on terrible CA freeways. The original A/C works great and will freeze you out of this car. I'm telling you. this car runs. drives. handles. brakes. and performs. like a much newer car. where you enjoy driving it. It sounds great too. Deep burble out of the exhaust. with out transmitting inside. Original Kelsey Hayes 4 piston caliper disc brakes rebuilt. and the GT specific mater cylinder has been rebuilt too. Email me for videos as I can't get them to load here.  I'm also not opposed to changing anything (with in reason) on the car for a serious buyer at an added cost. My shop can do anything your heart and bank account desires. but space is of the essence right now.   I have owned a Mustang shop for over 20 years and am very familiar with these cars. I have bought. sold. worked on. and owned over 2500 Mustangs over the years.  New KYB shocks in front and adjustable height air shocks in the back. New polyurethane bushings on the original 13/16" GT specific front sway bar. Original GT specific steering box is tight. Car was aligned when tires recently replaced and drives and steers like new. I have put almost 1K miles on the car and you can see from all my pictures how well everything has held up over the years and no leaks or seaps of any kind. Obviously not driven in inclement weather. This is a very well sorted. original car where you are not buying someone else's problems. Suspension is tight. but still smooth. You can still see many original markings all under it. Original undercoating and red oxide primer with factory drips and sealers all over underside. Only 2 very minor rust areas I can find is a small area under battery box the around 3" by 1. 5" that is easily fixable and an area that has a riveted small panel on pass front floor pan where A/C line probably leaked. Fenders. doors. and valances don't appear to have ever been off this car as the hard as a rock seam sealer is still present and undisturbed. No rust bubbles on underside of doors. or anywhere on the body like most others have. No chrome or trim has been messed with. Car does not wander and is not all over the road like most old Mustangs are. It does not pull to one side. even when stepping on the brakes hard. This car is meant to drive and enjoy. It is a true time capsule that you will not find again. How many original GT's exist still that are un-restored and original owners. let alone with so many original components still in tact?? Parts have usually been professionally rebuilt. rather than replaced the during the cars' 49 year existence.   Car is available for inspection and can be driven or shipped anywhere. Car is tight with no rattles. leaks. etc. Speedometer doesn't bounce or make noise like most 66's. Odometer works like it should. I can't think of a single component that does not work on this car. The underside is as clean as the the rest of the car. The pictures speak for themselves. Paint is nice and has a great shine too it and done in 2010 in acrylic enamel before original owner passed away. He planned on leaving it to his sister's son who also passed away in a skiing accident. He added the chrome wheels with spinners. Super Snake style stripes (can be buffed off if not to your liking) and Mach 1 front spoiler (also easily removable). His twin sisters were left the car in his estate as well as his 69 Mach 1 which I also acquired. This is a beautiful car and PERFECTLY balanced as far as looks. safety. economy. handling. braking. comfort. reliability. and performance!! Re-live your childhood with something you didn't have the means to buy new or replace one you used to own. or add another to your collection of other worthwhile vehicles. This is the most balanced 60's Mustang you will ever drive. Engine and transmission are original to the car and smooth as silk with no grinds or slips. Cylinder heads have been updated with hardened valve seats for today's unleaded fuels. New bearings. oil pump. gaskets. rings and seals (from age and as a precaution. not because needed)!! All professionally done 3K miles ago. Transmission also refreshed and shifts smoothly and perfectly. Brakes have been refreshed and there are no leaks or issues. Has never sat it's entire life for more than a month un-started. Always let get up to operating temperature. and driven around the block at least once per month since new. Car is easy to steer and very easy to drive. It is much more nimble. and light feeling than any new Mustang. It's easy to maneuver and park. more comfortable. and less expensive to maintain than most other cars. I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. You will not find a nicer one for the money that is this nice and to this caliber and pride of ownership and it will only continue to go up in value. Even the back up lights.  interior lights. and shift indicator light in the console work! Horn works. Signals work. All gauges work and are accurate. Original wood steering wheel had a steering wheel cover on it since new. so it looks new still with no cracks or worn grain. This GT runs and drives excellent and has never been abused. There are no odd odors. odd rattles. or odd noises. You can drive this car anywhere with confidence. with out worry that you wont make it. Mileage may also vary minimally as car may be driven for test drives and/or inspections and I do drive it sometimes. Please feel free to ask questions and I will answer promptly. This is not your average $10-20K classic Mustang that you can find that needs $$$$ worth of work and still won't be as nice as this one with the special options. great history. and tasteful upgrades. No other 66 GT compares to THIS car!!! This GT is a no excuse. honest car. that needs nothing. It will only continue to go up in value if kept in this condition. Vehicles such as this from my experience are a much more solid investment than the stock market. They can only keep going up in value when in the condition and desirability of this one.
