Description for Ford Mustang 1966

Early Mustangs have always been fun because they are small, light, powerful, and of course they look great. Add a drop top to the mix and it gets even better. But what happens if you update 1960s technology a bit for more power and better handling? Well, you get this car. And you get to have even more fun! It doesn't get much better than a Red Mustang convertible. It grabs people's attention no matter where you go. The light moves along the fender creases and body lines as you drive down the road. A couple sweet little touches like removing the badges for a cleaner look and replacing the stock grill with one of simple horizontal chrome bars keeps the original flavor while giving it a custom flair. Underline that grill with the stock pencil thin chrome bumper and it just keeps looking better. Triple white stripes along the rocker panel have Mustang in script and tie the fender wells together that are filled up with those chrome American Racing wheels. At the rear, the iconic triple taillights have a Cobra GT 350 gas cap that isn't just for show. It is hinting at what is under the hood. (but more about that in a minute) The white convertible roof looks great while it is up, and even better when it is down tucked under its nice white boot. Open the door, or just look inside if the roof is down, and you will be greeted by a Red and White Pony interior. The door panel itself looks great done in three textures with red paint surrounding a vinyl center that is smooth on the outside and pleated on the inside separated by thin chrome piping. The seats are the stars of the show with white pleated seating surfaces with a red Pony panel transitioning to a red pleated and then a smooth vinyl surround. The back seat gets the same treatment and it looks awesome with the white roof or white roof boot installed. A beefy red leather Lecarra steering wheel is mounted on an ididit column feels good in your hands and sits in front of a dash with white faced Autometer gauges. A modern aftermarket stereo that is AM/FM and iPod compatible with speakers in the kick panel and rear panels is there for your listening pleasure and there the T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission is in the center console. Under the hood you will find a trick engine nestled down in an engine compartment that is neat and clean with some chrome and polished aluminum touches dressing it up. A few updates make this Mustang go faster, stop faster, and handle better. The engine is a 331 cubic inch V8 with a free flow air cleaner feeding a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake manifold. MSD ignition assures a strong spark and brushed aluminum valve covers with Mustang Ford in script look sweet. Shorty headers leading to a true dual exhaust. An aluminum radiator keeps things running cool and power is sent back through a 4-speed automatic trans to an Auburn 3.80 posi rear that puts the power on the ground through 225/50R16s. Up front, 205/50R16s are controlled by a nicely updated power rack and pinion steering system with GT350 sway bar for precise handling. 4-wheel power disc brakes assure that you can haul this ride back down to reasonable speeds if you decide to let the Ponys run. Classic good looks, pop top fun, serious power and handling. What more could you ask for?
