Description for Ford Mustang 1966
Up for auction is a 1966 Mustang Fastback that came from the factory with a C code 289 2V and Borg Warner 4 speed. The car has the original buck tag and matching VIN stamping on the drivers fender apron. The door tag is from a different car. The car has been off the road since 1982 and was in Florida up until 2017 when it was brought to NY. The car does not run, but the original engine (assembly date of 5H5A) turns over freely with a breaker bar. The odometer reads 35k miles, but I assume that is incorrect. I doubt it is 135k, but assume it is incorrect. The original Borg Warner 4 speed is also in the car and the car rolls freely.I tried to take pictures of the good and bad.The car will obviously need significant rust repair all over including the floors, frame sections, and exterior panels. The car was in minor accident at some point as there is some damage to the DS front fender apron. That said, the aprons are pretty decent where they are spot welded to the shock towers (usually they rot where they overlap). There are some rust through spots around the rear window. The car does not have any door glass, but the windshield and rear window are present. The car is sold "as is" with no warranties expressed nor implied. What you see in the pictures is what you get. The car includes a pair of reproduction front fenders and some trunk drop off patch panels.
I bought the car for the roof in order to do a coupe to Fastback conversion, but decided to "pony up" and spend the money to get a done car. I will help with loading the car, but the buyer is responsible for making all arrangements and for the shipping expense.
