Description for Ford F-250 1972
1972 Ford F250 Camper Special Sport Custom 390 Automatic 2wdThis was an old ranch truck from Montana and has the look to prove it! It has a strong 390, doesn't burn any oil, no smoking. The power steering and power breaks work great. I recently (within 20 miles) put in a new battery, starter and carburetor with electric choke. It starts right up, even after sitting for weeks. The wheels were just powder coated and wrapped with new 245/75R16 BF Goodrich All-Terrains. The one think that doesn't work is the radio. Everything else works, all the lights, even the domelight turns on when you open the doors, so I'mthinking that radio is just a blown fuse.
Camper Specials came with 1 ton frames with the 3/4 ton suspension. (Basically an F350 frame on an F250 suspension) Also, a second battery tray under the hood, along with a wiring harness that ran to the bed of the truck which allowed for a slide in camper to be hooked up for electrical usage. It has the 8 foot bed, bigger 390 engine, in cab CB radio speakers, built in tool box, mounting brackets on bed, dual gas tanks.
The truck is extremely solid. There is one spot of rust on the passenger side front fender near the bottom. It is about the size of my thumb. Some surface rust on the underside but this truck is solid, ready to work. The absolute only reason that I'm listing it is that it doesn't get driven enough. I have four trucks and just can't justify keeping them all. If you're familiar with the classic car market at all, you know that the pickup segment is the hottest right now. Values are skyrocketing, having doubled or even tripled over the past few years.
The "Fine Print"...The truck is being sold AS IS/WHERE IS with nowarranties expressed or implied. With thatsaid, I would drive this truck anywhere. It hauls a load with ease, travels at highway speeds great, power steering works great, breaks work great, runs, drives and stops perfectly. If you're in theCharleston, SC area, or would like to send someone, please come have a look and take it for a test drive and see for yourself.
If you need help getting the truck shipped, I can give you the phone number of a gal that I've used a number of times before. I don't know how her rates are soinexpensive, but she always gets them moved quickly and in prefectcondition.
