Description for Ford Mustang 1970
Up for sale is my 1970 Mustang fastback. The only reason I am parting with this is that I am running out of space and I'm choosing to pay off student loans instead of finishing this project.More pictures to follow. The Mustangis stored two hours from where I live in a family member's garage. Thanks for understanding.
This Mustang started life out as a 302 manual transmission car. Years ago the engine was swapped with a 351 Windsor that has been fully rebuilt and comes with the car. 4 Speed manual transmission. 9" posi-rear. The car was stored for the past 25+ years in a pole barn with concrete floor. When I found it (and still is) the car had survived the elements flawlessly. It was manufactured in Dearborn and spent a majority of its life in California. It even has the original smog emissions vent on the gas tank. During its previous ownership, a Mach 1 hood scoop and rear wing was installed both in great shape. The chin spoiler was damaged years ago and replacements can be had for a nominal fee.
The car started going through the stages of restoration with the intentions of making a Trans-Am clone. There is a lot of new components that come with the car. (new headliner, carpet, etc). The interior pieces are there, however, have seen better days and will need to be reupholstered/replaced. The engine bay was completely stripped down to bare metal and is ready for paint. The previous owner made modifications on the floor pans of the car and we have replaced/repaired a majority of the sheet metal. Doors/fenders/hood/rockers are all solid. The rear quarter panels seem to have been repaired/replaced but it is very hard to tell that from the outside. We know from extensive combing through the car. I was going to leave them as they are and finish the restoration as it sits. Depending on the level of restoration you want to do, this is at your discretion.
The car currently is set up as a rolling chassis and we can have the engine mounted in the engine bay to make transport easier. Deposit of $500 due within 48 hrs of purchase. Remaining balance to be paid when the car is picked up. Cash, Certifed Check, secure forms of payment (not PayPal). Thanks and I hope to see this go to a great home.
