Description for Ford F-150 1977
Here's a very nice 77 F150 4X4 with the big 300 6 cylinder and 4 speed manual. This is a great turn key truck that's ready for winter. The Power Steering and Power Brakes allow you to have the nostalgia of driving a vintage truck while still having an easy, comfortable ride. The truck rides on a brand new $800 set of Yokohama Geolander ATs. Size is a healthy 285/75/16. The wheels were almost new that had been stored for a long time. I thought the white wagon wheels appropriately fit the era of the truck and weren't overly flashy. Because of the very tall tires the speedometer is about 8-10 mph off. The smooth 6 cylinder starts and runs good with new Bosch Platinum spark plugs. The valve cover gasket and intake gasket are new. The carburetor is also recent. The truck has a plug in block heater for the upcoming cold mornings. After just a minute of warm up it's ready to hit the road or get to workin. The motor is extremely quiet and lugs along as a large inline 6 should. The clutch works perfectly as does the transmission, transfer case and lock out hubs. Mechanically I don't know of anything the truck needs. The heater and all of its various functions work. Good wipers, lights, signals etc. Interior lights and underhood light work. It has the optional dual tanks and they both work and read correctly. Overall the body is excellent for a 40 year old truck. There are a few places with some rust spots showing through. Pictures of those included here. Since I purchased this truck from the original owner and it has NEVER been painted there's no hidden surprises. This is a turn key or fly in, drive home truck. With the excellent mechanical condition, new tires & wheels and nice body I think $5,900 is a very fair price and I am firm on that price. If you have any other questions I'd be glad to help. I can also send more pictures if there's something specific you'd like to see. Thanks!
