Description for Ford Crown Victoria 1990
1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria LX 5.0. Beautifully preserved and very well maintained one owner low mileage sedan.Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder. Contact must be made within 24 hours of the auction ending or it will be assumed that you have no intention of honoring your bid and the truck will be offered to others. Zero Feedback bidders must make contact prior to bidding. This classic Crown Victoria has only covered 39,000 miles from new. It was sold new to a lady in Saskatchewan, Canada. We purchased it from the estate sale earlier this year and I have personally used it since then covering 4,000 miles. I've driven it from Sweet Grass Montana to Fargo North Dakota and back and done many smaller trips in it and it has been 100% reliable. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country. When we purchased it we changed all fluids, installed a new Motorcraft ignition module, replaced the valve cover gaskets, new wiper blades and had the AC recharged with R12 after replacing a few seals. The AC is ice cold. The 5.0 V8 starts and runs like new with no leaks. The AOD transmission shifts perfectly and the TV cable bushing is good and it is properly adjusted. The rear end is silent. The brakes are good. The cruise control works perfectly which is unusual in a vehicle of this age. The tires are usable with tread but they are old. It gets excellent fuel mileage, no worse than a smaller modern V6 sedan. It will cruise effortlessly at 80 mph all day long. The suspension is in great shape with no unusual sounds, it rides better than a Cadillac. The alignment is perfect, it drives as straight as an arrow. Overall this car should need nothing other than normal maintenance for many years and miles.
The interior is like new showing no wear as would be expected from a 39,000 mile car. It is very well appointed being the LX model. All power options work including all four power windows, power seats, power locks, power antenna, original Ford radio and much more. The headliner, carpet and seats are in perfect condition. The steering wheel shows no wear. It has never been smoked in. A very pleasant environment to travel in and far plusher with much higher quality materials than a modern sedan.
The bodywork is in very good shape for its age. It is a beautiful gun metal gray metallic. There are some stone chips, minor scratches and imperfections to the paint as expected with a used vehicle but overall it shows remarkably well and looks more like a 5 year old car rather than a 28 year old car based on condition. There is a scuff on the chrome trim on the passengers side rear wheel housing but this could likely easily be sourced and replaced if it bothered you. The padded vinyl top is in amazing condition as this car has always been garaged, it has no sun damage and no splits or damage. The underside is in excellent condition with no sign of rust. Overall this classic sedan presents very well and attracts a surprising amount of positive attention from admirers.
As many are aware these classic box shape Crown Victoria's are becoming increasingly hard to find in nice usable condition. They are an American icon with quite a cult following developing due to the Ford Panther Platform being not only the longest running American sedan platform but also the last real American car with its body on frame construction. These cars are predominantly used in Hollywood movies from the past three decades as cop cars and taxi cabs so you could almost say they have a claim to fame. These pre 92 cars are now very scarce and have much more charm than the later aero cars. This car represents excellent value as a very usable and economical daily driver and an appreciating classic.
