Description for Ford Deluxe 1940
This car is a show stopper and a show winner! It has a super slick paint job that shines like it's wet all the time and an interior that is modern art rendered in mixed media. It will be an object of envy for many and one of desire for others. Maybe you? Fair warning. Numerous buffing and polishing wheels were injured in the building of this car. Before that gorgeous Silver and Orange two tone paint was laid on this car, a tremendous amount of time was spent in the preparation and adjustment of the body panels. Also, please spend some time checking out the underside of this car too. The fit and finish of the chassis is almost more impressive than the body because there are so many components with so many nooks and crannies and they are all as shiny and spotless as the topside. Up front that three-piece grill of horizontal lines reaches all the way to the ground. The hood starts with a narrow nose and sweeps back, engulfing the cab of the car and flowing over the trunk with that delicious shade of Orange. Notice also that there's not a door handle, latch or emblem disturbing that flow. Chevron shaped taillights grace the rear fenders and twin chrome tailpipes peek out through the bodywork. Open the door and you will find an interior that has been hand crafted in Gray, Cream, and Chrome. The door panel has arcing shapes that mimic the lines of the car. The dash brings a little of the Orange in along the top edge and then dresses the rest of it in Silver. Classic Instruments gauges create the perfect look with the speedometer and tach in front of the driver and smaller gauges for fuel, oil, water and voltage in a line toward the right side. A Billet Specialties steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column and a Lokar shifter falls easily to hand. An Alpine FM/CD player is mounted in the center console for your listening pleasure and there is a Ford emblem proudly displayed just above it. The power bucket seats are super comfortable and finished out in ultra-leather with cream centers and gray bolsters. A custom headliner and nice carpeting tie the look together very nicely. Under that long, tapered hood you will find an LT1 crate motor that is nicely dressed out nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay with a flush firewall. A free flow air filter feeds a Holley throttle body and intake plenum with runners that look awesome getting the air to those free-flowing heads. Shorty headers get the spent gasses to a fully ceramic coated exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Chrome and polished pieces include the air conditioning compressor and the alternator as well as a polished aluminum radiator to keep things running cool. Power flows back through a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive to the rear wheels with chrome shocks and leaf springs. Up front, coil over springs and power rack and pinion steering help the car handle nicely. The rubber meets the road through 225/75R15 tires in the rear and 195/65R15 in the front, all mounted on Billet Specialties wheels. This car is an absolutely beautiful piece of automotive workmanship and art. Come on down and check it out. You may decide to take it home with you and start showing it off. And that's cool. It's got a huge trunk to bring the chairs with you to the show, and to bring the trophies home with you on the way back.
