Description for Ford Other 1952
Cool 1952 Ford Customline. Good running flathead 239 8BA V8. 3 speed on the column. Engine is a Jasper Factory Remanufactured. I was told the engine didn't have a lot of miles on it from the gentleman I purchased it from. Jasper Engines started business in 1971 so it was after that I know. The car sat in a shed at the older man's house for 15 years or so. He was car collector and was loosing his health so decided to sell some of his stuff off. I rebuilt the carburetor. put in a new gas tank and sending unit. ran new ignition wires and spark plugs. The engine started right up with no troubles. I bled all the brakes and replaced one wheel cylinder that was bad. All the old wiring has been removed. Ran new wiring to headlights and brake lights. Rewired the gauges. The oil pressure is great. It runs nice and cool. I haven't diagnosed why the the fuel gauge is not working. The sending unit is new and the wire is run but haven't had the time to mess with it. The heater is still intact and radio is there but I haven't bothered wiring them back up. The car has been lowered 3 inches all the way around. The front was lowered using Ford Aerostar springs. If you search around this is a popular upgrade for these cars. The springs are perfect height and are a progressive spring and do not allow the car to bottom out while drastically improving the ride quality. The front shocks were also replaced. The rear has been lowered using 3 inch drop blocks and air shocks. The pictures are of the shocks completely down. You can add air the rear if you like a little rake. Tires are brand new white walls that are grinded wider to give the rat rod look. This does not affect the tires integrity. Car drives smooth and stops good for a car of its age. The seats have been covered in mexican serape blankets. They are not upholstered. The rear panel behind the back seat was reupholstered using the same material. Car is very solid overall. The front floor pans had 6 inch holes on each side. They were patched by screwing down some aluminum. I wasn't looking for perfection. There is a rust spot behind the passengers side tire as well. I think it gives the car character so I left it. No title but can be registered if your state requires a current registration. If you have any question please feel free to contact me.
