Description for Ford Model A 1929
This truck was brought to Michigan from Colorado in the early to mid 70s. The previous owner bought it in 1976 and did a frame off nut & bolt restoration about 30 years ago with 505 miles driven since.
He claims the truck was solid without rust through but there were a couple of bullet holes that had to be repaired. All new wood was milled for the interior. The paint still looks amazing with a brilliant shine but the restoration is showing it's age with scratches and chips in the paint and wear on the running boards as shown in the 43 images below. The green is 6 coats of Ditzler laquer with no clear.
The tires are old and age cracked on the sidewalls. The rear has snow tires that I believe came on the truck from CO. One rear wheel has a lot of paint chips on the edge from getting a flat on the road and having to change the tube.
This is a really solid old truck with good fitment of panels and well sorted. It wouldn't take much to bring it back to show condition or just enjoy driving it and not worry to death if you get a little scratch in it. It fires right up, goes down the road and stops well. It retains the original 6 volt system with headlights, brake light and horn still working. There are some light scratches in the passenger side window. The fender wells have some dirt on the underside, which will clean up easily. We have a long dirt lane so it's unavoidable.
The windshield wiper is missing. The truck looks fairly correct except I think the wood in the bed should be black and the bolts in the tail gate hinges are not right. There is an electric switch to turn the gas on and off.If you need more images or information text or call my cell 217-827-1173 or email ben@velomine.com I can also send a video of it running.
It's snowing here in MI and my wife wants to get her car in the garage so come and get it soon.
This should easily hit the reserve but if it doesn't, i'll work with the highest bidder to get it sold. If you want to make an offer, I'm willing to listen.
There is some checking to the green paint in the area on the bed side shown below at the rear passenger side.
